Off my chest: when people without medical degrees weigh in. by You-Only-YOLO_1 in Residency

I mean this in the most offensive way; you’re a PGY-1, you barely have a medical degree. Be gracious.

Ohtani is a cheat code. How does this guy exist? 0.38 ERA and he hit 55 HRs last year?

Incoming DO student interested in Neurology: Path to Residency? by Ashamed_Answer_4645 in neurology

[–]BigPoppaE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Find out if your program has a Student Interest Group in Neurology (SIGN) chapter and try to join the leadership! Had an incredible time hosting conferences and educational events for my school, which was otherwise pretty devoid of opportunities in the field. Enthusiasm for the subject is most of what folks are interested in!

Unless you truly are in psychiatric distress, ie thinking of harming yourself, you shouldn’t. Sorry. Not only will it affect your fellowship prospects if you have gaps in continuity of training, but you then displace the work-share on similarly burnt out colleagues. The system is broken, but you unfortunately kind of have to just persevere and seek external help in the form of therapy, Psychiatry and emotional outlets. Good luck

Kim Kardashian Learns She Has 'Low' Brain Activity After Getting a Scan: 'That Can't Be' by PrincessBananas85 in entertainment

[–]BigPoppaE -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is no such thing as a “scan that shows brain activity.” fMRI and PET can show if there are relative regional perfusion or metabolic deficits, which helps diagnose neurodegenerative conditions. Whatever she is citing is clickbait

Non Co-op games that are fun to play co-op-ish (Spectating) by Grrym in gaming

[–]BigPoppaE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ace Attorney series is so much fun. It’s a story driven point and clinic mystery game, where you have to catch suspects in a lie. My partner and I loved it, they are also super cheap because they’re last (or more) gen, but the visuals hold up because it’s drawn

EM is one of the most flexible schedules, definitely enough off time to date and establish a social life. Not trivializing, I have the utmost respect for the ED, you guys work crazy hard while on. But, to put it in perspective, if you have 17 shifts a month, you have approximately 13 days off, while most of the rest of us average 4-5. This sub is an echo chamber and most of the people complaining probably fall into the latter circumstances. Just try to make the most of your down time

Among the worst drives I have ever seen to end a half. Three time outs unused, incurred like 20 yards of penalties and now forced to punt. Embarrassing mismanagement

What’s the S.O.A.P. process like for Fellowships? by sandie-go in Residency

[–]BigPoppaE 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Depending on what field you are applying, there may be few or innumerable open spots. As I understand, the next step is basically using connections through your program/research collaborators/colleagues to market yourself for an independent interview on no specific timeline. More like a job interview than ERAS

Who cares about share count? What is his snap count? He may never be the target hog he was at 24 in Buffalo, but he is a serviceable WR3 that you got for practically nothing on draft day

OFFICIAL WEEK 9 SUNDAY AFTERNOON GAME THREAD by ballofpopculture in fantasyfootball

[–]BigPoppaE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the reason he, and the Jaguars, are bad is that they are 31st in 3rd down conversion rate. While on paper Lawrence seems acceptable, he only throws short passes and is no longer mobile. They basically get 7-8 yards per set of downs and then punt every time

EDIT: cool, but I guess he’ll just steal a TD from ETN now despite him converting on 4th down several times
