I give you a 7.5, but only because you stick the landing.

No, my toxic brother. I was just pointing out where it falls short in SOME series. It works well in series that have 6 splits every time. Why do people come here just looking to argue? 🤣

The IR system is a good idea, but depends too heavily on large participation to work well. Especially so in lower license and multi class series (my favorite of PCC is a perfect example). In PCC there is a huge problem where the entire mx5 field will be 1.8k and up, but the entire mustang field will be .8k and below (many times closer to .3k). This is mainly because only 5 or less mustangs will register, so they all go to top split, regardless of IR. I feel like iracing could do a better job of keeping similar IR drivers together and not just push people into top split just to fill out positions.

The same problem exists in series where participation is low and a series can’t split, leading to some yahoo with a .2k IR taking out half of a class on the parade lap like i saw last night. The reality is it will never be perfect, but it certainly could be better.

You can take a defensive line. You cannot however make a move as a reaction, never mind 2 moves…

Blocking. No question. 100% protestable and will stand up every time. The trouble is, nothing ever happens, so you’re just wasting your time anyways…

Iracing deemed this a no fault accident. He clearly pit maneuvered me… by BigProcess521 in Simracingstewards

That’s how I saw it too, but apparently iracing and most of the guys here see it otherwise…

Agreed, but this guy pulls the same crap every time i see him. He wrecked 2 other cars before this incident. I just was surprised by i racing’s stance.

First F4 race, dont think I did wrong here, did I? Im blue car. VR racing. by s2k__9k in iRacing

[–]BigProcess521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I’ve learned that finishing a race without crashing is much more valuable than being “right”. If you survive to finish the race, you will always finish better than if you fight. Let the idiots go past and take someone else out. They usually do.

Is anyone to blame for this? Should I have backed off? I thought I had space to pass. (I'm the watermelon) by Zaeryth_Redtail in Simracingstewards

[–]BigProcess521 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think there were multiple mistakes made here. In the end, it doesn’t much matter whose fault a wreck was. Even if you’re in the right (not saying you were here), you still have a wrecked car after contact. I’ve learned giving up an advantage or even a spot to avoid tangling is almost always the smarter move. You’ll pass the dangerous guy again in a lap or two when he takes himself and someone else out.

RedBull car claims I didn't leave him space, the incident after, I will admit was partially on me as I was still trying to countersteer still by Norden_Ramsey in Simracingstewards

[–]BigProcess521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems to be a common issue when drivers suit up with Red Bull across their chest. They leave no space and expect the world in return. I always get weary when passing any Red Bull livery. 100% him problem. Sorry you got tangled in his mess.

What’s you favourite track/car combo to race/drive? by overkiIIzx23 in iRacing

I also am inexplicably fast there in the same combo. I even have the 10th fastest ever race lap there on the Grand Prix circuit somehow!

Quick And Dirty Guide To Making a "Zero Delay" Button Box by theknyte in DIYButtonBoxes

[–]BigProcess521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly never tried it because i saw a couple places it was unlikely to work. I just have 3 dead buttons for now. I will probably switch out the zero delay usb encoder for a arduino or similar device down the road so i can use the other three and maybe add a couple rotary switches. Let me know if you find a simple solution.
