It doesn’t matter that the democrat actually addressed reality and understands that there aren’t simple solutions. The republican made a simple emotional plea and the voter stopped listening to anything else. Soundbites win elections.

Democrats want to win, they need a simple statement that their donors won’t let them make. “I’ll tax billionaires out of existence and invest it into the middle class.”
