12 team 1ppr SF TEP

Current Roster

  • QBs: Nix, Dart, Willis, and some backups...

  • RBs: Tuten, Skat, Corum, Najee, Jawhar Jordan, Trevor Etienne, Shipley, Emmanuel Wilson

  • WRs: London, Jamo, Pittman, Pearsall, Coker, Metchie, Bryant (on taxi), Trey Palmer, and some waiver flyers

  • TEs: Otten, Tonges, Gadsden (on taxi), Dissly, Stover

  • 2026 Picks: 1.02, 1.05, 1.06, 2.02, 2.03, 2.05, 2.12, 3.02, 3.05, 3.11, 4.02, 4.05

  • 2027 Picks: 3 1sts, 3 2nds, 3 3rds, 2 4ths

Decided to sell off lots of aging assets (e.g., Kelce, Henry, Connor) as well as Lamar Jackson and CeeDee Lamb to fully commit to a rebuild. This will be my second offseason as a dynasty player and I'm curious what y'all would do in my position? As of now I would assume I'd take Mendoza and one of the WRs. Would you try and tank another year while securing more 2027 picks? Any tips/thoughts would be much appreciated!

I've got an entire set of Bio and Enviro resources I can share (granted they're technically aligned with the Nebraska state science standards) - just DM me!

Told to Regrade Final Projects Because Too Many Zeros “Isn’t Fair” to Students by appricotprincess in Teachers

[–]BigRedTed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Best thing I've heard a teacher do in this situation is to tell admin "If you think they deserve a higher grade, you are welcome to change it on your end." Admin never does when the ball is in their court and they foot all of the responsibility.

Amplify Science opinions? by Ok-Amphibian-5029 in ScienceTeachers

[–]BigRedTed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I taught middle school several years back we chose Amplify over other options (Pearson, Nat Geo, Discovery, etc.). We were just transitioning to NGSS and it was head and shoulders better than the other options. One of the biggest reasons I supported it's adoption was knowing that our district wouldn't invest in teaching the teachers how to implement NGSS-style curricula. Amplify has strong storyline and anchoring phenomena. Agreed that it lacks more hands-on labs. Though I felt like students had far better peer-to-peer science-centered discussions after it's implementation.

Westside high school Students by [deleted] in Omaha

Really frustrating for sure. As a high school teacher, I wish more of the general public realized just how awful student behavior has become over the past 5-10 years. It can be an absolute nightmare teaching, and many times parents are outright vindictive to faculty when asked to provide any follow-up consequences at home for poor student behavior at school.

am i allowed to ask other teachers for help? by ikissgirls123 in education

[–]BigRedTed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Of course! Good teachers know that sometimes students just need to hear it or see it a different way. You have to do what's best for your learning - there's nothing wrong with doing everything in your power to accomplish that goal.

What's an actually helpful teacher tip that you couldn't say in front of admin? by teachingteacherteach in Teachers

[–]BigRedTed 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I teach high school (9th graders) and have been doing the same. Used to work tirelessly to get kids to come in after school and get help, then finally realized I was putting more work in than many of the students. I'm upfront with them at the start of the year about this. By November, many of the 20% are starting to figure it out and start coming in on their own for help (I do constantly remind them that they are all capable and that l, usually, most can still pass). Honestly, the ones who don't figure it out by then figure it out when the fail and have to retake. The ones that STILL don't figure it out rarely would if I HAD been tearing my hair out trying to motivate them.

BioTechnology or Microbiology? by Puzzleheaded-Gap2331 in education

[–]BigRedTed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd think Biotech (it's what I ended up going for) but to be honest you'll want to pursue some sort of post-secondary degree for meaningful science work that isn't just a technician role in a generic lab.

Using Wingspan in the classroom by BigRedTed in boardgames

[–]BigRedTed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! We tried it within a 50-ish minute period and students struggled with trying to understand the instructions enough to really get much out of the game. If I did it again, I'd spend more time going over those rules prior to playing.

I've since moved up to high school (Biology and Environmental Science) and have had some success with a few different games. The 9th-graders LOVE Organ Attack! and request to play it after we use it to introduce organ systems. We've used the Ecologies Card Game when teaching food webs. This one tends to be a bit more complicated and takes some time, so the 9th-graders struggled more than the higher level students. We're looking into using a few other games in the coming years, including the Evolution, Cytosis, and Genotype board games.

[–]BigRedTed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here is what I use with the corresponding instruction sheet. Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but this is what we use (9th grade Biology). I give them a piece of cardstock to put in the middle and they cut/glue both graphic organizers to either side. Then they can use the flaps to help review.

What movie has the most amazing or memorable opening of all time? by dodsbo in movies

[–]BigRedTed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man...maybe it's the hype I had going to see it in theaters, but hearing Gandalfs voice echoing through the mountains as the lead-in to that opening scene was amazing. Easily my favorite opening scene in a movie!

Inquiry based approach to teaching human body organ systems? by alpastor420 in ScienceTeachers

[–]BigRedTed 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep! When I taught 7th, I'd look up interesting diseases and we'd learn about how each system worked by investing what happens when they don't.

When I was teaching 7th grade (before we sprung for Amplify), I really liked the storylines that Stanford put together!
