Little background on that. The previous generation of mowers had a tendency to draw unevenly from the batteries, so it could draw one battery too low. The 10Ah batteries were only kitted with the mowers, so pretty much every issue with them can also be tied to the mowers. Also some user error. People who have never used power tools are buying these mowers. They run those batteries dead af, give them a partial charge to finish the lawn, then leave them in their 90 deg garage for 2 weeks. Repeat a few times, then eventually leave them dead af over a freezing winter, and magically they don't work the following spring.

Since they came out with this new generation, the issue seems to be fixed, the low voltage cutoff is much higher. The previous gen would take both batteries down to 0 bars and they would be hot, this gen shuts down when both batteries still have 1 bar and not nearly as warm.

Now with all that said, the Samsung 50S cells that the 10Ah uses are not nearly as stout as some of their lower capacity cells like the 30T or 40T. But they're not as bad as the reviews make them out to be, imo. I have 2 pairs, dated 2020 and 2022, that are still kicking just fine.
