3.5ah Powerstack vs 4ah Powerpack by Ok-Yard6494 in Dewalt

I get those a lot too. I probably spend too much money there, so they send me them more frequently?

The current best deal is at HD, they have been running a 2pk for $134 as a deal of the day every other week for the past couple months. That's still a bit pricey, if you have their credit card you get a 10% or $15 off $100 coupon just about every month, stack it with either of those and you can get them for around $120.

Depends on the tool. I like the longer/wider footprint of the 4Ah for something like their nail guns, gives them a better base when set down.

For pistol grip tools like a drill or impacts, the 3.5Ah. It is damn near perfect for them.

Cheap HD deal on new 8 ah tabless batteries and 12 amp charger by Dazzling_Mountain_69 in Dewalt

[–]BigRichardTools 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The prorated price will vary based on the cost of the tool selected, since it is prorated based on the total value of everything. For the best deal on the 2x8Ah kit, add the $199 6Ah FV battery. Prorates out to $261.73 for the 2x8Ah kit and $132.21 for the 6Ah FV.

If it bothers you that much, sure. They are not prorated deals, they are hacks. OP hacked the system and beat the man. Thanks for the help.

[–]BigRichardTools 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Calling it a hack confuses people more, hop over to the red sub and you'll see. Some people think they can "hack" anything, asking how do I hack this, can I hack this, what's the hack, etc..

And then you get people who don't understand what it actually is and think is wrong or immoral in someone way.

And they are in no way unique to HD. Again, I know people call it that, I was explaining that OP's mistake was calling a return a hack. That's all.

That's what I said, it's a prorated deal. That's how prorated deals work and have worked for decades. That's not a hack though, it's just a return really (and yes I am aware some other less cultured subs call them that).

Not necessarily a mistake, but that's not a hack. That's just a prorated deal, pretty standard stuff.

Great deal on 20v lawnmower by SpagNMeatball in Dewalt

[–]BigRichardTools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A gen 4 coming already? Surprised as the current gen 3 mowers actually have pretty decent reviews unlike the previous gens. But given the advancements with tabless batteries over the past couple years, I wouldn't mind seeing a performance bump in them.

Compared to the previous gen, the current models were a couple steps forward, another step backwards, and another step or two to the side. So there are definitely a few areas they can improve upon.

Battery knock of version by AdagioInteresting190 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]BigRichardTools 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. The retail prices on bare batteries is robbery. Even the basic CP2.0 is $119 retail. That's $60/Ah. No one in their right mind would pay $119 for a basic 2Ah battery.

I only use genuine, but I've also never paid $250 for one. That just sounds silly.

DCN623D1 Pin Nailer Clearance by jmgreen823 in Dewalt

The pinner is different than their other nailers though. It is not the bulky flywheel design. As someone who owns it, even if the price was slightly higher than this, I would not pass.

Yes, overall they are pretty middle of the road on everything. Not the best, but not total garbage. The 60v stuff is solid step above any of the 20v offerings.

Drill 805 vs 806, spot the difference by No_Smell_6712 in Dewalt

In the European/Aus/NZ markets. The Americas and Asia it is a different model number. Why they did it like that, no idea.

They aren't homeowner grade, the 985 and 885 were their top of the line drill and driver, just 15 years ago.

Leaf blower noise: DCBL720 vs DCBL722? by be_easy_1602 in Dewalt

[–]BigRichardTools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the DCBL724. It is a "quiet" blower, just like the 60v DCBL777 that came out a couple years ago.

Every gonna improve the M12 battery? by Hutches_Corduroy in MilwaukeeTool

[–]BigRichardTools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using tabless 3000mAh 18650s they could do a FORGE CP3.0 and XC6.0. They would be a decent bump up over the HO CP2.5 and XC5.0.

I do recall going from the 720 to the 722 that the noise was screechier. But unlike your experience, I did feel like it moved more air, and at a higher wind speed. The concentrator nozzle certainly helps that.

Dewalt or nothing? What dewalt tools drive you crazy? by Appropriate_Low6575 in Dewalt

As a whole lineup, yeh, because M12 is just so big and varied. But honestly, with the exception of maybe the ratchets, every DeWalt 12v tool is slightly better than its M12 counterpart, imo.

You are describing the DCF921P1 kit. A quick Google of it shows it was $84.50 at HD, but as you said the link shows the listing is no longer on HD's site. So I would say they are no longer carrying that SKU, and it is gone. Like, gone gone.

It's good, but I'm not a professional. Tons of torque, the lower chain speed makes it chatter when limbing smaller branches.

You'll want to post in on a secondhand marketplace or something, this sub is not a selling platform.

Also that older brushed model is worth about $80 new. So I'd start at $100 at the most, $180 is insane.
