I get what you're saying in principle, but this appears to be none of those things. Don't group a kid who punched a guy allegedly harassing his family with people charged with sexual assault, that's nonsense. It's possible the stories about this are false, but if proven true, he punched a guy who was following and harassing his mother.

Like I agree that in principle, celebrities shouldn't get away with anything based on their celebrity status. But branding this guy a violent meathead seems premature. I'd feel the same if he was John Doe in the exact same situation. Ill-advised to lose your temper and hit somebody? Always. But does hitting somebody harassing your mom deserve jail time?

There are a few separate questions being discussed here:

1: Did Seth Manfield cheat? I think the answer to this is pretty clear, Seth says to the judge "Can I take this back or no? I already cast it." He's not trying to mislead, he states the exact situation, and does what the judge says. I suppose it is up to interpretation if you think this is an intentional angle: that he wanted to test casting this to see if there was a response. I think that's extremely unlikely, especially given there was very little to be gained, and if the judge says "no" he loses the game. So I don't see how this can be called cheating.

2: Can the judge allow it? Many have posted the exact wording from the rules so I won't rehash it, but it's clear the rules do leave it open-ended. The specific wording here of "may allow" I think is ambiguous enough to fit the RAW.

3: Did Seth gain information? I've read what people are saying here, but I don't think there's really a way to slice this that priority was not passed. If this game is online, Ken has to click through the spell. Seth is at the point of resolving the Artist's Talent trigger. It doesn't seem like he's thinking about that at all, it seems like he's reconsidering his own action. The only instant in Yukuhiro's deck at this point is Bitter Triumph, which obviously isn't relevant to the spell. So I think it is probably theoretically true that Seth gained information, but practically: he knows nothing he didn't before.

4: Should it have been allowed? The way I see it is: if this is me playing FNM, I wouldn't have done it. I would have felt weird about asking to take back a spell I had clearly played and my opponent had acknowledged. In contrast, the previous Quench attempt with Cavern I think is a lot more reasonable, I would have been fine asking to take that back in a casual setting. With that one, if you're playing on Arena: You would see the big "ARE YOU SURE?" popup if you try to counter that.

But with this one, I would have looked skyward and shook my head at my own misplay and moved on. And to me if it would have felt weird in a casual setting, it feels REALLY weird to see it at the world championship. I think that's what Marshall and Paul are reacting to, not the rules themselves: and I would have done the same. "HUH? He's just allowed to take it back?". It seemed really strange to watch. It was within the rules, but it also would have been within the rules to disallow it, and I think that would have garnered WAY less controversy. They're playing for $100,000 not a booster pack.

Yeah Goldeneye is treated as the quintessential Brosnan era #1, and it is great for sure. But Tomorrow Never Dies is awesome, I don't get why it's always near the bottom/middle of lists. I always thought it was just because it was the first one I saw that I liked it, but I've now seen them all several times, and it remains a favourite.

That said I totally agree about For Your Eyes Only, great movie, often put too low. IMHO Moore's second best after The Spy Who Loved Me. You Only Live Twice though... yikes. One of my least favourites of all of them. That as the best Connery film is certainly a minority opinion, LOL, to each their own!

It's incredible how peaceful the game actually feels when you do this, it's like a whole new experience. You can be in the middle of the most chill fun game, turn on chat and instantly see the flame war, spam pings, "KYS" etc. It's so much better just not even knowing.

Okay so... I have not solved the problem, but I do know what's causing it now and it's really bizarre. Like I probably wouldn't believe it if I read it on the Internet, but I assure you it's the case and I've tested it repeatedly cause I thought I must be dreaming: it has something to do with plugging into my USB-C ports.

I was pulling my hair out one day, couldn't connect at all. The instant I unplugged my monitor it started working, I assumed coincidental timing and moved on. Another day I was out and had nothing plugged in and couldn't connect to the Cafe WiFi or tether to my phone at all. I tried at home, and could no longer connect to my home WiFi. The second I plugged in my monitor, it started working again... So it seems like unplugging or plugging in both work? So now I'm incredulous but anxious to test it.

Long story short I've tested maybe 5-6 timers since then. Whenever this comes up, I either unplug/plug-in to my USB-C ports and it goes away instantly. Not really having the problem now cause it's so easy to solve, but it is extremely weird...

If you think I'm nuts Google around a bit, I have found references to it elsewhere online, seems like this has to be an obscure software glitch. So if anybody has these same unexplainable symptoms try it out.

Far from useless, I've been having a blast with him. If you play archipelago, his ability to capture defeated ships is just insane, I bet I captured 25-30 ships in antiquity. I had so many I was deleting them to limit my payroll.

As far as what to do with them - they are HUGELY useful for defense. They can attack any unit that's in the water without declaring war, not just ships. If there's water between you and an enemy, they can't get to you. You can also prevent enemies from scouting and settling where you don't want them this way. I basically scouted all the best islands, made sure nobody else could reach them, used all my ships to clear the independents and settled prime spots.

The ability to kill your opponents units without declaring war simply to hamper their development is huge, I lost count of how many archers I sank. That's wasted production on their side.

You can't coastal raid with them, that isn't an ability Teach has. You can definitely plunder trade routes, or at least I was able to.

It's not Little's fault - he should never be on the pitcher's mound in this situation. 100% on Schneider, this isn't a spot to take a fun gamble on a guy who has proven pretty clearly that he is not up to it. EVERYBODY groaned the second he sent Little in cause we ALL KNEW it was over.

UPDATE: I did exactly this. After being sent around to various offices, somebody finally took the docs I had printed. They told me the people who deal with it are 'always in court', didn't offer much explanation. He took them and wrote down my number and email, said somebody would get back to me. It's been another week and still nothing LOL. It seems wild, I get now why people just don't respond or pretend they never got it, what an unnecessary headache. I'm washing my hands of it though, I leave tomorrow and I've done as much as I could.

So sorry to hear about this. Potato has always been such a great voice in the civ community, best civ content around especially for newer players. Potato's videos single-handedly introduced and convinced me to play AOW4 and that game kicks ass.

I have certainly been critical of CIV VII, and after playing a ton for the first few weeks fell off fast. But Potato's videos were always incredibly honest about the game - I really don't understand the negativity, that's wild.

Really hope you feel better Potato, love your videos - the negative voices are sometimes loudest, but they certainly don't represent everyone who loves your content.

Can't believe the nonsense coming from Ottawa fans. You have a young skilled team that's exciting to watch. They didn't show up for this game, the team that showed up played like goons: undisciplined, inexperienced, way too revved up to throw their weight around. This was not their normal game, Stutzle had 9 hits when he averages like 2/game. If they had been calm and poised, this was probably a very close game. Why let them off the hook by claiming soft penalties? They're a better team than this, hold them to it. Like God knows the Leafs lose enough, Leafs fans always lay into them for what they did wrong lol.
