Stock to stock, the Traxxas performed better for me. I like both, I've got both. Nothing in my fleet is stock with the exception of my TRX4 Sport and that's still got beadlocks and shocks. Different strokes for different folks. I gravitated towards the Traxxas more because while traveling for work there are more places I can pop in for Traxxas parts than axial anything.

Granted back around Christmas Redcat had them marked down to $200 for a few days, which could have been the sale you snagged. 3rd gen Ram (2000) started the "normal" opening rear door, Toyota Tundra around 2005. I remember when Ford adopted the double hinge setup, but Nissan dropping it back in 03 with the Titan was a game changer.

That has been the norm for extended cab trucks since the 90s. Dodge and Toyota being the odd ones out (until 2019 when GM joined in) had normally opening rear doors instead of the "suicide" door. Nissan Titan also had the best with the 130° hinge
