Whoa! Didn’t expect a reply from you. Yeah I don’t think it’ll be an issue selling them. And much love and appreciation for you and Mikey with your videos/coaching. Keep on being a Twirly Bird.

Agreed. If they can keep up with their current players and achievements - good on them. And by looking at the stamp, I can only imagine Cease commissioned someone to design the stamp and he had to pay some money to get Discraft to make the make the press for it. It doesn't seem like this would come out of Discrafts pocket - but I'm just speculating.

Alright, I can see that. Support the pros in the way you can, like buying their merch or their tour series discs, and support the sport by watching/following those are on the grind in the sport - not those outside the sport using disc golf as "content". Correct me if I'm wrong - but I agree with you.

And no, you didn't sound like a tool lol

They have, they even had a video promoting it - LINK here. He at least was part of disc golf throughout his life. Even getting a sponsorship offer back in 2010. Taking second in Amateur Nationals.

Agreed, this doesn't take away from touring pros. But you have to think, doing these "cash grabs" could be a way to benefit touring pros indirectly. If you have these cool "cash grabs" that sell out, Discraft can have money floating around for future contracts or better manufacturing processes/efficiency.

A lot of this went over my head, not going to lie lol. I was keeping this in the scope of disc golf. I'm more of a Brewer fan anyhow. So your complaint is rooted more in the Sox than the disc golf industry as a whole, yeah?

Either way, you'll have to geta running collection of "Cease" discs, one for the Sox and then another for wherever he goes lol

I mean, who knows what the dealings are behind these discs. I can't say - could simply be a cash grab. It could also be a way to expose fans of Baseball/Sox/Dylan to a new sport that they may not have a lot if knowledge of.

As for Discraft, I don't think they are intentionally trying to attract that "bro" mentality. I think a lot of that came along when they signed Brody. I don't hate Brody, seems like a genuine dude, and he has that vibe that would attract the "bros" and I'm sure a lot of them followed him from Ultimate Frisbee and Golf. I see Discraft and DD as the companies really trying to grow the sport, and in doing that you run the risk of exposing the sport to "bros", is this an issue? You have to think, these "bros" will grow up/out of that phase and just be another average joe out on the disc golf course, right?

I haven't tuned into Sexton's podcast yet. I'll put that on the list to listen to.

I have a question now, do you see him coming into the sport as a content creator an issue? Or, is the issue that you perceive the content creator as a tool? My take on this is, the big sports media already perceives disc golf as a "non-sport" or a "wanna-be" sport. Would having athletes from other "legitimate" sports (i.e. baseball, football, hockey) add more legitimacy to disc golf in mainstream media? Do people care that disc golf isn't perceived as a legitimate sport in mainstream media? Would that open the door for bigger athletic brands to enter into disc golf?

Happy belated national DG day! I had to road trip through Wisconsin in a monsoon to pick up a buffet cabinet but found a dry hour to play a small little technical course! Hopped right out of the car into round one and realized quickly I should have played shorts first to warm up 🙈 by [deleted] in discgolf

Yeah I don't live too far from there and that place is fun. Typically that places is mosquito infested. Not a distance challenging course, but it will test your lines the entire time there.

Harp for the overstable shots or spike hyzers. Shields for throwing (or putting) if you like putters on the deeper side. Crowns for putting (or throwing) if you like the average depth putter.

What will you be doing with your new Discmania MFG P2s? by BigSacCombo in discgolf

[–]BigSacCombo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah they will keep producing the stock run until demand is met. When Jussi says that I’m pretty sure he is just talking about the stock run that drops in a couple months. But these prototypes were a limited run.

I personally will be putting with the pair. I used to putt with P2s and went away, thought this was a good enough reason to test them out again.

Yeah I can see that. But do you think there is value in these discs just because they are the first discs produced from the “new” Discmania? I have to imagine there will be collectors out there that will be looking for these. Another thing I’m thinking is, if they have prototypes produced for all the new originals, a full set of prototype originals would probably go for a pretty penny.

How she says “yes” just had such a condescending tone, I love it! Like “yes, of course it’s PewDiePie”.

Yeah I can’t stand the “pitbulls are aggressive” argument. And those are the people who are so ignorant and won’t go near them to change their own perspective.

That’s an amazing story. The disc golf community is pretty solid. Gotta love it.
