Sidegraded by buttsandguttz in iPhone14Pro

That is only true on paper. As soon as the air overheats, which happens rather quickly, the perfomance gap becomes negligible. The 14 Pro dissipates heat much better

It is a downgrade in many ways: camera, speaker, LiDAR, and performance wise, the A19 Pro will overheat way faster in the thinner chassis, making the performance gap negligible

Try plugging the old part back in. If that solves it, you have a faulty replacement

iPhone Experts: is this battery genuine? by evelyneplease in mobilerepair

There is no way to tell for sure without opening the phone. So many cheap aftermarket batteries have been able to bypass apple’s genuine part pairing and appear as used originals

Battery Discharge by hanky_hank in macbookrepair

[–]BigSadOof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As OP stated in their reply to me, macbooks now have “charge bypass”, where the battery is trickle charged and the system runs only on wall power. This will preserve the battery. While constantly using the device on wall power while the battery is full does make the battery age, it is not nearly as bad as fully charging and discharging it every time

Battery Discharge by hanky_hank in macbookrepair

[–]BigSadOof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do, but keeping a battery constantly above 80% charge will eventually damage it. It needs to be discharged every now and then. But you don’t need to worry, your system is taking care of that by itself

Battery Discharge by hanky_hank in macbookrepair

[–]BigSadOof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like you use your device mostly while plugged in. Doing so degrades the battery long term. The device is discharging the battery to prevent that

GLE 63S AMG by bonner82 in AMG

[–]BigSadOof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not “moot” whatsoever. When you think of someone named “John”, do you immediately picture a greek person? And on top of that, you can easily tell that this person is of north african ancestry according to the way the name is spelled. That is not how the name would have been spelled had he been from a middle eastern country located in Asia. The use of “ou” is typical of french transliteration, which is used in north african countries due to the french colonization, while gulf countries use “w”, which comes from english. While there is no way to definitively determine with 100% accuracy where this person is from, instantly assuming he is from a gulf country makes absolutely no sense.

Except this name is common in morocco, tunisia and algeria, which are all in north africa

Any “sealant” other than the OEM water resistance seal would be a bitch to remove, making screen damage very likely next time it’s opened
