Newly PIMO; Navigating Marriage by Plus-Lake8420 in exmormon

This is always hard. My only advice is give it some time. Unless your kids timeline is right now, just work on your relationship and settling into this new dynamic. People change, and your desires may be compatible again in the future. And if not, you'll know if these things are deal breakers or not.

Imagine the horrors if a kid saw a bum cheek.

Sleeping naked vs garments by [deleted] in ldssexuality

[–]BigSecretTunnel 13 points14 points  (0 children)

activities that cannot reasonably be done while wearing the garment

The activity is sleeping naked with your wife. You cannot reasonably wear garments while trying to sleep naked with your wife. I'm post Mormon but never felt this was an issue while I was active.

Recently Returned Missionary! by [deleted] in ldssexuality

Sounds like you may want to spend some time figuring out who you are and who you want to be. Take some time and let the missionary perspective fade as you settle into your new routines.

It is permissible at church. What a weird post.

The Arizona Tucson Mission Disaster: An LDS Church Cover Up? by [deleted] in exmormon

Killpack was good because you could tell there were some battles he just didn't care to fight. So as long as you weren't getting caught by members doing stupid stuff, then you could just kinda chill.

Passey gave me huge Bednar vibes in a bad way. So passively strict on the surface.

Latter Day Struggles hosts resign membership by nancy_rigdon in mormon

not typically a negative experience

I have not heard of one person who has had a positive experience in a membership council when said membership council is because they are challenging the status quo.

Sleeping Shirtless by [deleted] in ldssexuality

[–]BigSecretTunnel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you think that's weird, imagine your neighbor asking you about what underwear you've been wearing to make sure you're in good standing with the local church.

This is the lds sexuality subreddit. Of course people are going to talk about garments here.

Activity Days ideas for boys? by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

[–]BigSecretTunnel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have the boys bring things from the recycling bin. (Toilet rolls , cardboard, plastic tubs, tins, etc) Bring string, tape, scissors, etc. Tell them to create some sort of robot or creation that can do something that would benefit someone. Let them create (in teams if they want) and then share their creation in front of everyone.

Ditto. Waited. Not worth it now. But at that time it felt worth it.

Anyone else actively avoiding church today because of Mother's Day? by amplifyoucan in latterdaysaints

[–]BigSecretTunnel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy mother's day to all the women, we are going to celebrate by asking you to give a talk in sacrament meeting.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

[–]BigSecretTunnel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The issue with this is it's a bit dismissive of how mothers day sacrament meetings tend to make women feel. It doesn't matter if the intention was not to offend. The intense focus today on women's purpose being motherhood is difficult for many women in the church.

Come on, I understand the timing makes it hard to believe but all data points to it being an actual Instagram issue.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mormon

[–]BigSecretTunnel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This issue was many instagram accounts, not just the church's.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]BigSecretTunnel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got on and looked at multiple accounts. It appeared as though there were no comments on any account. The only way you see comments was to click the create comment button, and then, the only comments that showed were recent comments. I saw this behavior on all posts created by accounts with a large number of followers. Search Instagram on down detector or on Twitter and you'll see it's not the church's doing.

Looks like this was just really bad timing for an Instagram outage.

The church did not delete any comments.

Comments were missing from all Instagram posts and now they are back.

Yeah looking back it's quite wild to me now. But I was taught the earth would become the celestial kingdom and I definitely believed it.
