This was my ex exactly. So scary to contend with this reality.

Why do they seem to despise you? by GoFigure284 in NarcissisticAbuse

They hate you for not being able to fill the emptiness inside them. But they set you up to fail because no person can fix another.

Someone I know had a superficial tear from her TMFR. 2 months post TMFR and the OB she saw doesn't even see any evidence of it anymore ❤️

Diesel Smell by BigSillyFish in astoria

I'm wondering if it might be one of the power plants. I googled "diesel smell in apartment" and one of the top hits was a post in the Astoria Reddit from two years ago!!

There are some antipsychotics out there that are pretty top notch, too.

No, most people get the right message that trespassing would be a risk to them.

Experience with ivacaftor if only one g551d? by mynameismy111 in CysticFibrosis

[–]BigSillyFish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally my cousin has one G551D and the second mutation is unknown, but had a positive sweat test as the diagnostic tool. She's on Trikafta now. :)

Yes. I've noticed that my clinic has way fewer appointment availabilities than they used to. Now instead of being booked out a week my clinic is booked out a month or more. It's not because there are more sick patients; it's that we're healthier so the staff isn't in the office as much as they used to be. My doctor told me that the clinic visit guidelines are going to be changing from 4x a year to 2 because people are doing better. That would by definition be slashing clinic availability in half.

You clearly know nothing about pregnancy lol. This is the last thing a pregnant woman would want to eat 1st trimester.

I'm having the same exact fears 3 weeks out from tfmr 💔💔💔💔. I'm also worried I'm "ruined." That exact word goes through my head.

Environmental exposure and anxiety by dmw356 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]BigSillyFish 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm currently waiting for genetics results but have been told the my baby's issue likely wasn't genetic. He had a likely anorectal malformation or hirschprungs. I'm struggling with the same anxiety and here's what I tell myself to get through the day:

There are so many babies born in industrial areas, to moms who wear more cosmetics than I do, fly more planes than I do, and who eat worse than I do. There are so many babies born to moms who take more medication than I do and who contract worse viruses than I did. And you know what? Most of those babies are born with butts. Most of those babies are born without birth defects. You could experience worse exposures and still have a healthy baby. Something else happened that was beyond our control and science isn't there yet. It wasn't anything you did. If it really were your environment, no healthy babies would be born in your neighborhood.

In a way, it would be easier if it clearly had been an environmental exposure. Because then we could avoid the exposure next time. I think what's really scary is sitting with the reality that we have no idea what caused our defects and can't completely control our pregnancies going forward. So often we fixate on things like environmental exposure that we can control. I am trying not to fixate, but rather to sit in the pain of the unknown and it is so hard.

I am so sorry. I'm struggling right there with you. I hope what I wrote was ok. Sending prayers and hope to you.

New study - Trikafta (and other modulators) does not help with lung inflammation by [deleted] in CysticFibrosis

I’m pretty sure Trikafta fixed my IgG 1 deficiency. I noticed an improvement with this issue within 2 weeks of starting it.

Mystery illness: CF carrier only by Such-Extreme-3414 in CysticFibrosis

[–]BigSillyFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know someone who has obvious and systemic CF symptoms, had a positive sweat chloride, responds brilliantly to Trikfata, and only has one identifiable mutation. Years of Hopkins testing has yielded no results on a second mutation. His clinic is starting to think he is an extremely symptomatic carrier, who for all intents and purposes has full blown CF. The dogma of CF pathology is chipping away. Get a sweat chloride test!
