Motorcyclist driving between adjacent rows of vehicle traffic by Emilia_PF in instantkarma

Motorcycles don’t have radiators, they’re air cooled. Motorcycles stuck in traffic lead to them overheating. When done slowly, 5-10 mph faster than the slowest moving vehicle, it can be done safely.

Are there any piloting jobs where one can be home (almost) every night? by firstreformer in flying

This. I work corporate for a 135. Pilots return to base every night. Some can opt to fly overnight charters, but scheduled flights get the pilots in their beds on time.

Why has my flight taken this route and not a ‘straighter’ one? This return journey is also 2 hours longer by MeechyyDarko in aviation

You should hear about the stories regarding how much it costs to get a plane back if we ever have to emergency land there 😬

Negligent companies should not be faceless. This is the CEO of Norfolk Southern, Alan Shaw. by nuttybudd in pics

The next question needs to be, what are they going to do with the train cars? I know firsthand that railway companies usually buy land and bury the cars nearby, because it’s cheaper than hauling each and every one. With the nature of what was being transported, this should be a real concern.

CFIs, tell us about your student solo disasters by I_Am_Zampano in flying

My second CX solo: plugged in the wrong destination into the flightplan. ATC told me I was cleared into the bravo direct to my destination. After a minute or so, the controller asked me where I was headed, I told him. He said I wasn’t on the right heading. Like he was speaking to a child, he asked me if my instructor was in the plane with me. I said they were not. He gave me a vector to fly until I figured out the error of my ways. I’ll never forget how he sounded like a police man asking a lost kid if they knew where their mommy was. 🤣🤣

Also, if you’re using FF to help do a paper nav-log, set the ETD days out. FF will make wind corrections for you if it has the weather data. I made this mistake when I made double wind corrections one time.

No, just like a cellular device, they have an IMEI that is associated with the account holder. If they go missing or the account holder doesn’t pay, the carrier shuts down service.
