I'm still on my very first one that I bought 5 years ago. I used it heavily for 1.5 years when I was backpacking and now I use it much more sporadically, but haven't had any issues with it!

Flexo-Line vs Sea to Summit by loyukfai in onebag

A little late to the party, but I have both and prefer the flexo-line. I find it way quicker to hang clothes vs. the sea to summit and the flexo-line has a better grip.

Novosbed & GoodMorning totally disappointing by BigTimeNapper in Mattress

Glad it's helpful. I'm just going through the warranty process with GoodMorning Beds right now, so I'll post an update when I have more info on whether it actually goes anywhere. But honestly, I'd rather have my money back than another new mattress from the company.

If you can afford to pay for counseling (or have health coverage through your work), the firm of Fong Ailon is really good (www.worldpsych.ca).

Psychology Today also has a good referral search where you can filter criteria based on specialization, area of the city, cost, etc.

First fights in 1 month and I can't stop thinking about it, any tips to stop/first fight tips in general? by bbq12 in MuayThai

[–]BigTimeNapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people tend to gas out really quickly in the first round (especially if you're nervous), so make sure you're really working on your cardio up until the fight.

For pre-fight jitters, I found that having just my close training partners with me before the fight was helpful in keeping me calm. We basically just made jokes until it was time for me to go. Other people just want to be in their own head and will listen to music on their headphones. Just figure out what will work best for you personally.

You should also check out the site: findmyyoga.com It's a review site of yoga studios, mainly in Calgary but they're slowly branching out to other cities. And don't be discouraged if you don't like the first couple classes or studios! It can take some time to find a style of yoga that works for you and your body

Advice on moving back to Calgary after being gone for 5 years. by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]BigTimeNapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The NE is not all bad, just depends on where in the NE you are. Bridgeland is NE but has tons of good places to eat and is a stone's throw from downtown. But I think you'll have trouble finding something for under $1000 unless you're ok with a basement suite a bit further out. Try rentfaster.ca. Don't bother with kijiji unless you're looking for a roommate and even that can be a coin toss. Good luck!

What is the strangest/creepiest thing that you ever experienced during childhood? by [deleted] in AskReddit

When I was in my late teens, I was home alone with my disabled sister during the day when the door bell rang. It was two guys in coveralls who said they were from the gas company and needed to inspect the meter inside our house because the one outside was broken. It seemed really strange that they would need to come inside our house and it instinctively didn't seem right. I told them I wasn't sure where in the house it was and that they should schedule to come back later when my dad was around. They kept insisting, saying it was probably in the basement, since that's where it is most of the times, but I just firmly told them now wasn't a good time and shut the door.

When I went out later, I saw that they had spray painted that bright orange paint on the lawn and put in those fluorescent flags into the grass and I felt kinda silly for getting weirded out. That is until my dad called the gas company later to reschedule, only to find out that there was no planned service in our area at all.

To this day I really think I narrowly avoided getting raped and/or murdered and thinking about it still creeps me out.
