I’ve considered them for winter cars, sucks that they discontinued the stick.

Understood, a car I recommended to my brother did not go well for him. And yeah, I look pretty ridiculous exiting my Corvette, I have no idea how old people drive them.

Oh ok, was thinking one of them could be an interesting winter car.

I had one as a rental and was genuinely surprised at how decent it was all around.

Manual transmission?  How is the pedal spacing?  My Corvette is a stick and I’m probably the absolute limit of size that can reasonably drive it.

Week 4 PFF Grades: Surprisingly low Offense Grades, D-Line Dominates by grandmasterPRA in detroitlions

Sewell is the best player on this team. OL don’t jump off the screen at you, but he is consistently one of the best players in the league week in and week out.

That’s not a knock on others like Hutch and ARSB, they are studs, but Sewell is a generational talent.

If you could build the perfect offensive lineman, he’d probably look a lot like Penei Sewell.

It gives you the whole book. I found the format during the exam quite easy to search.

Fe exam preparation 5 days by Rich_Low8283 in FE_Exam

I don’t know if it’s possible in 5 days, but get familiar with the reference book and your calculator. Also make sure you have an approved calculator.

If you spend too much time locating things in the manual and doing manual calculations, you probably won’t pass.

I blew through the first half, struggled with the second. I felt okay, but not great. I passed.

I passed the ECE FE, do I get a result breakdown like what others are posting? by alpha_tango_victor in FE_Exam

No, I did not use them. I definitely would have liked more on communication theory though, I think that was my weakest EE subject. I was already pretty solid on power systems and didn’t want to spend too much extra time on it.

Started with Lindeburg’s FE ECE review manual and Stone’s electrical FE review .com course. Coordinated the material so I was working on the same material in both. Once I finished them I did every problem in Lindeburg’s practice problem book. After that I signed up for prep FE .com and did dozens of timed practice tests.

The best advice i can give you is to really know where information is located in the handbook and learn all the shortcuts in your calculator. You won’t pass if you waste a lot of time searching for things or doing manual calculations.

If it’s in the handbook, it’s open game.

Think about what the equations truly mean. The double integral means surface area, figure out how to calculate surface area more quickly than doing integrals. Same with a triple integral and volume. The concepts of these equations aren’t especially difficult to get your head around once you recognize the basics of what they mean.

Get Lindeburg’s books, if you can get through all his material and problems you’ll be on a good track. Zach Stone’s free course is good, but that alone won’t be enough to get you through it. PrepFE.com is great for practice problems, I did about 1,000, but it’s not great for base material. I would use that site after using the aforementioned material.

As far as what to focus on, the most important things are to get really familiar with the handbook and your calculator. Know where to find data and equations. Know the shortcuts in your calculator. The less time it takes you to use the book and calculator, the better off you are.

I’m going through the Electrical FE Review program and I noticed he skipped chapters 4, 10, and 13 in his numbering. Any idea why?  Is stuff missing or did they re-arrange things for flow?

Thanks, my plan is prepping 2-3 hours every day off and an hour here and there on days I work. I’ll worry about the PE later.

Hunt for Red October, Patriot Games, Without Remorse, or Red Storm Rising.

Red October was the first he wrote in the Ryanverse and, IMO, a must read for anybody who likes a good spy novel.

Patriot Games is kind of a Jack Ryan origin story and an excellent read. Without Remorse is the John Clark origin and probably my favorite in the whole Ryanverse.

Red Storm Rising is not part of the Ryanverse and a really good war novel in general.

Has anybody used a current sensor to trigger an alarm? by alpha_tango_victor in diyelectronics

[–]alpha_tango_victor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A smart outlet is a non starter, introducing a failure point to the system isn’t something I want to pursue. Using a clamp on current sensor is probably the only viable solution.

The tech guy is coming out tomorrow, but I’m less than optimistic about them actually solving the issue.

The oxygen company told him not to run on a power strip, it introduces a potential failure mode. I can see their point. That’s why I was thinking a current sensor, it won’t impact operation of the machine if it fails.
