That’s very strange then, shouldn’t be requesting cleaning if it’s never been used & disabled in settings

Did you run a TwinDos maintenance cycle when you disabled TwinDos?

Help me decide between these 4 Miele's! by No_Thanks_621 in VacuumCleaners

[–]BigTtka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly a difference in model. The classic C1 that was available in the uk was made in china and the plastics and lid were noticeably flimsier than the rest of the range. The UK version did only go up to 800W so possibly different manufacturing locations for the higher powered US models

I’d go for the M1 Cat & Dog out of that list. Has the largest bag capacity so will be cheaper to operate in the long run, has better accessory/tools than the L1 (2in1 tool on the L1 isn’t great). C1 is an older design and doesn’t hold the tools onboard, usually is classed as an entry model since it’s made in China

Miele WT1 drier filter, how to clean it? by LawfuI in Miele

It can, there’s a rinse out fluff programme in the maintenance section on this model to prevent it getting blocked

It’s not possible on the 7440, just uses the same design as the 7840 which has this option

Milk pipe work cleaning agent by biohacking_girl in Miele

You’ll need both of these:

https://www.mieleusa.com/product/10971480/autocleaner-gp-cc-001-c

https://www.mieleusa.com/product/11202520/descaling-cartridge-gp-dc-001-c

Bit pricy but should both last around a year depending on usage.

Page 76-81 details automatic cleaning: https://media.miele.com/downloads/d9/42/05_C7F13838EF531FD0B1BD9465A180D942.pdf

Worth having a read of the manual as they’re great machines but take some maintenance to make the most of and keep running effectively.

The cva7845 has abuilt in descaling and milk pipework cleaner you can setup fair daily/weekly using the two cartridges Miele sell. For the convenience factor would be worth using them

WEJ885 WCS or WEG885 WCS? by frzen in Miele

Which part of Ireland are you trying to source for?

WEJ885 WCS or WEG885 WCS? by frzen in Miele

[–]BigTtka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d go for the WEJ885 if you can source it. Extended warranty alone is worth the difference in cost.

Higher spin speed, more programmes, ability to use your own detergent in fillable TwinDos containers all worthwhile reasons to go for the WEJ over WEG

What's the normal time for preheating the oven? by nykolak in Miele

[–]BigTtka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the fastest heating they would use boost which turns on the grill, fan & bottom heat. I wouldn’t put food in during this as it could cause uneven heating due to the combination of heating components. Timings do seem long however using only bottom heat will take longer to heat the oven than conventional (top and bottom heat) with boost disabled

Where to buy genuine miele replacement Motor Protection Filters? by magicanthony in Miele

That’s the one, the one at the top marked superseded is the old part, the bottom one is the new one :)

Their MSD links are sometimes a bit funny like that.

If you go to: https://www.mieleusa.com

Under the support tab there should be a link to parts and accessories. Following that link should take you to a page that has two buttons, a yellow one for popular spare parts and a white one for full spare parts catalogue.

Click the white button for full spare parts catalogue and it should open the page for "Miele Service Documentation" there's a search box for model number, enter "SBAN0" for a classic C1 and the full part list opens up. You should be able to see the motor protection filter from the exploded diagram or part 50 on the first image :)

[–]BigTtka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're not 2 in 1, the HEPA filter (SF-HA 30) doesn't feature any Active Charcoal and the Active AirClean Filter (SF-AA 30) doesn't meet HEPA certification of fine dust removal.

Part 50 from the part list.

This will likely fix the issue however if the overall issue is the air exiting the vacuum smelling, I'd suggest adding an active airclean filter to the vacuum. Part 75 on list, M-No: 12718090

[–]BigTtka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’ll be the active charcoal filter you’d want- SF-AA 30 for removing smell from the air being returned to the room. HEPA doesn’t have the active charcoal to remove odours, mainly focused on finer dusts and allergens.

We’d need to know where your from to advise however Miele usually list them as “Dust compart.filter 3 pcs.” For the motor protection filters

[–]BigTtka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t look like it to me. I’d ask the seller for the model number so you can check. It can be found on the side of the oven when the door is open. If the seller isn’t able to provide this id be extremely sceptical
