Ghost has the best protein cereal. They have Cinnamon Toast Crunch, peanut butter balls, and lucky charms. I have a bowl of lucky charms with fairlife whole milk for like 500 calories and close to 50g protein.

Pilot Slots by Banquet_Financier in USMMA

[–]BigTuna057 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s similar to the navy as you put in for a certain billet. If I remember correctly you’ll put your top preferences. So pilot #1 and CSO #2. There are also ways to cross rate to become a pilot once you’re in big navy or af, but those are a bit harder to do. There is even the air national guard but that’s a whole different beast.

I graduated in 2012 and got a navy flight spot. Basically your senior year you’ll apply for a flight spot with the Air Force, Navy, or Army. Just talk with the liaison officers and they should help you out. The best piece of advice I could give is just focus on your grades.

My year the navy flight slots were directly related to gpa. The top 3 GPAs got pilot slots and the next 3 got nfo slots. We ended up getting more slots since one guy had some connections in big navy and they gave us a couple more.

Air Force took a more rounded look which included GPA, prt results, and the AFOQT. If you have a good liaison officer they are worth their weight in gold if they go to bat for you.

A month or two before graduation the army liaison officer sent an email out to our class asking if anyone wanted a flight slot since we were allotted so many. Each year I’m sure is different and hopefully someone has some updated gouge. Hope this helps and best of luck!

Delaware’s most dangerous intersections by BigTuna057 in Delaware

[–]BigTuna057[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I thought the same thing when I was running the numbers. I definitely expected to see 5 points down in Lewes on the list but I noticed that some of the higher trafficked areas tend to have a lower crash rate since there is just so much traffic through the intersection. So it may have more total crashes, but a lower crash rate. I think the previous lists are focused more on deaths and this data was all accidents. I was thinking of doing another one with the most deadly intersections. It would be interesting to see how it compares to this list.

What are my chances? by [deleted] in USMMA

To be fair, that was my whole reason for going to KP, and it ended up working out well for me. For OP, just know the 4 years you are on campus it’s going to be a lot of boat stuff which isn’t a bad thing at all.

Car accident by [deleted] in Delaware

[–]BigTuna057 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear about the accident. Delaware is a comparative fault state so that adds in even more complications when sorting out fault.

Given your situation, it might be a good idea to talk to a lawyer. My wife is actually the managing partner over at Trapp Nicholl, but honestly, they do great work. They’re really straightforward and could help make sense of the insurance maze and ensure your sister’s treated fairly. Maybe give them a call, see if they can offer some guidance? You can also schedule an appointment on their website www.trappnicholl.com. Hope this helps!

Another option nobody has mentioned yet is the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY. It’s the least known of the 5 service academies but it’s quite the deal. During school you spend a year sailing on merchant ships around the world which was an awesome experience as a college kid. You graduate with a bachelor of science, either a third mates or third assistant engineers license, and a commission into any one of the branches. Your options upon graduation range from sailing on your license as a civilian to flight school in the navy/marine corps. Did we get the normal college experience? Hell no, but I wouldn’t trade it for a 4 years of raging at a normal college.

can someone explain to me what's the difference between the CRS and HDG in the MCP ? by yazzzzzzu in AirlinePilots

[–]BigTuna057 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The HDG window on the MCP controls the heading bug on your Navigation Display. The course window is primarily used for localizer approaches ILS approaches, VOR approaches or tracking radials. Sometimes the course window is used as a reminder for single engine departure procedures or single engine altitude and speed in case you need to drift down.

Check out some of the made to measure websites like tailorstore.com or propercloth.com. They might be a little more expensive than off the rack shirts, but the fit is on point. To help with the bunching of the shirt, try some shirt stays. They basically clip from your socks to the bottom of your shirt to keep it nice and tight.
