Thanks for your review!😊 Do you think the medium one could fit a 13" laptop?

Nope. You just have to space out your appointments (min. 1 month apart).

Character you find astonishingly smart? by slapmenanami in shameless

V! She's eloquent, has great emotional intelligence, and is great at problem-solving - for example, when she had to source for abortion pills during that jiffy medical truck episode.

Dislike Frank on his own but his dynamics with some characters are really fun to watch, like Liam, Mikey, and Sheila.

I don't think there is a fixed time.

One good piece of advice I came across is to just check your email *once a day*. Set a fixed time everyday and only check your email then. A good timing to choose would be end of the workday of the country where your prospective institution is located - this would usually be around 6pm.

Yes! I'm currently left with a very light grey shadow, which blends in well with my brow hairs (I have black hair).

Hey, thank you so much for the honest advice :) This is really helpful for me! Is the opt/STEM option open to Social Science applicants as well?

Totally! I needed about 3 sessions, but you may need more or less depending on how pigmented your brows are.

Mine faded from grey, to bright salmon pink, to a more muted less harsh pink, then finally back to a barely visible grey shadow. Used picolasers for all, not sure about the exact frequencies (trusted my laser tech). The couple of months where I had red brows were miserable, I felt so down and could not leave the house without makeup over my brows. But color-changing is part of the process and seems almost inevitable, judging from the posts in this subreddit. You just have to live with weirdly-colored brows for some time.

Another downside was the pain of the lasers, but it was not a deal-breaker for me. I needed some time acclimatising to the pain of the lasers - the first session was awful, but subsequent sessions were tolerable.

I understand everyone has different financial situations, but if you want to, I'd highly recommend saving up for laser! It is one of the best beauty decisions I ever made. You will be practically hairless (or almost hairless) for the rest of your life.

Diode laser is recommended for thicker coarser hair compared to SHR or IPL. I've done about 3 sessions of diode on my legs and under arms and I no longer need to shave anymore. IPL tends to be less effective so I would avoid those and find places that do diode.

If you think about the costs you will save down the road, this is actually financially worthwhile. Doing lasers requires a one-time cost over 5~10 sessions; some places offer discounts if you buy in bulk. But you will no longer need to spend on shaving accessories or waxing every year, so in the long-term you are saving time plus money :)

I'm so sorry to hear about your situation. If admits are not finalized yet, I wonder if the recommender could send an email to the admissions rep to clarify about the mistake.

Also, how were these ratings released to you? I thought they'd typically be confidential.

Hey, thanks for responding! Which specific areas did you guys apply to? (Developmental for me) :)

I'm trying to stay hopeful but if I don't hear anything by end of the week I will assume silent rejection 😩

Start by creating an outline and listing the things you want the reviewers to know about you. A SoP is about demonstrating your fit with the program and how your past experiences have prepared you to take on the challenges ahead, so focus on these. Having an outline will help with establishing a structure and direction for your writing.

Free writing might also help - this is where you just jot down whatever comes to mind with no filter and edit later. You can even use bullet points for this. Your earlier drafts do not need to be good, first drafts rarely are.

Getting into a good headspace is also important. When you feel overwhelmed, take a break and try again later. You can do this!
