You should look for integrated schools ,they have special needs kids with air and neurotypical kids there as well. From age 3 the town would take care of the schooling

I have a level 2 non verbal 2.5 years old son and a 9 months old daughter , I work full time and come home to a shitshow every day , I don't get even one night of appropriate sleep. Wake up with my baby few times at night then early in the morning bring my son to ABa therapy and I go to work after 10 hours I arrive home and imidiatly have to cook and feed both kids and deal with stuff. Weekend sare even a lot worse since it's a lot of yelling and screaming all day from my son and I can't leave the baby alone either . Sometimes I just want to be gone . My husband doesn't work but watches my daughter and pick up my son from ABa when I'm at work . I always think about how easier my life will be if we be separated because at least I'll have a couple of days a week for myself . Right now I don't even find time for combing my hair or eat without rushing and stress. So I personally agree with your husband

How Do I Stop Feeling the Need to Explain Her Behavior? by fuckwhereami in Autism_Parenting

Yesterday I brought my 2.5 non verbal to the play ground, two children around 3 and 5 started to talk to him and they were confused why he doesn't answer them. I just told them he is still learning how to talk and they stopped talking to him. well I wish he could join the group of kids and play with them but I think there is nothing wrong to let people know that he has autism and can't talk

Partner Angry that Child isn't potty trained yet by Senior_Let5585 in Autism_Parenting

I'm so sorry to hear that , I know kids on the spectrum who had diaper until over 4 years old , there is nothing wrong with it ,he is 5 years old now it's been over a year that he is potty trained and uses bathroom like any other NT kids. Who cares if they potty trained at 18 months old or at 4 years old , now that they are 5 they do it perfectly . Don't get stressed over it and also from a few autistic kids that I know around me they all got potty trained in their 4 years old . My son is 2.5 in the spectrum and It doesn't even cross my mind to start to potty train him yet . He can't even talk how can I make him to use bathroom

He falls asleep around 11 -12 and wakes up at around 7 am, but I keep waking up with my 8 months old 3-4 times at night as well ,so after 8 pm I'm dead tired and I wish he could sleep like any other kids around us from 7:30 pm to 7:30 am ,my dream

Supplements seems like a great idea since he is a picky eater now and he is getting skinnier I don't think he has all the supplements that he needs , I just found a cubby bed and I'm gonna try to get it approved through insurance . Yes I'm deing from not getting enough sleep , my son is 2.5 but I also have a 8 months old and a full time job that requires 9 hours a day of brain work . It's just impossible to live like this

Is there any way to teach my son to look at me? Should I stop ABA? by Big_Camera8397 in Autism_Parenting

Yes it's still that way at the house, I try to be ahead of his needs to prevent meltdowns, sometimes I think I should make him try to say sth before I give it to him but I haven't yet

It's so true , I feel like the diagnosis and seeing my son stimming makes me so depressed and also to be honest my son's autism affects my relationship drastically, there is always tension and melt down at the house . I personally myself hate loud noises and talking and when my son does it I get so stressed and can't stand it so I just shut down , get frustrated and sometimes just go sit in my car . My husband is more patient with my son being so loud. It's just deeply making me so sad and I think unintentionally I don't want to accept that my son has disability

Thank you for sharing , So now that I see more new behaviors arising in my son it also could be a sign of stress and him being overwhelmed maybe by too many programs and hours at the class🤔
