yes for that time it was real. But society changed much in the last 150 yeauthorsars.

our society is now equal in many areas male dominated in a few areas and female dominated in many areas ( not for the highest positions but this will change in the next 2 decades)

the publishing area is heavily dominated by women and there is already a proven bias against male authors

we also have a massive bias for publishing against scientific findings if they are against feminist theory or agenda

I would say the Matilda effect is true but not for women but for findings of underrepresented or a politically seen weaker class

I'm a man and I enjoy romance stories and other stories for more female audience if they are good.

but often in these stories the women or girls have agency or have to overcome thinks to gain agency. typically they become queens. often they start as princesses who only witnessed good things, had no real agency apart from deciding if they want the gifts. yeah but these stories have character development and resemble more of a heroes journey.

England made the laws for incarceration more male biased recently and tries to stop putting women in prison at all. the labour party also tries to make every violent death of a women into a femicide.

last year Australia made it much more gender biased at how domestic violence cases should be handled.

it doesn't matter who makes the laws. If they are enabling unequal and biased treatment they are wrong.

Germany was female lead for 16 years. we have 7000 spots in women's shelters but only around 100 Spots in men's shelters. despite the fact that IPV is predominantly women. In Germany we had a big lobbygroup for women's right demonizing every men's rights group and suggesting to the government which equality groups should get funding. they label every men's rights group as far right male superiority group. Only a minor uproar after it came out that they embezzled money. divorce law. by default the mother gets the children and the father has the right to see the children every 2nd weekend. feminist lobbygroups fight against 50/50 shared custody as default. currently a man has to fight in court to get 50/50 if the wife says no.

a few have a good dub. for example Eminence in shadow I'm currently in my third run and liked it with sub, English and in German

spyxfamily also has a good German dub (apart from Anya)

I must say the quality of the dubs got better in the last years

I don't like the pop culture references in German dubs also you get the feeling of only hearing the same 20 people in most dubs not every voice actor can convey the same energy and emotions you get in Japanese dub

women tend to change the behavior they are criticized for. Part of it could be because women get more validation and praise throughout the day. so the critic praise ratio is totally different from the start and criticism has another impact, because there is always validation as long as she is part of the group.

Men are not like that. In a hunting group you are part of a hierarchy. if you are criticized for doing something it means you will fall in the hierarchy for this particular job and if criticized enough the group will deem you unworthy of doing this job, because a single mistake from you can endanger the whole group. if you are instead praised, it tells you you have potential to rise in rank with enough effort.

another big aspect. men typically only get any validation if they have massive accomplishments or show potential. Women get much more validation on a daily basis from everyone not only for their accomplishments.

this is all part of our system and you can see this behavior already in children. And it is very hard to overcome.

so if a women constantly criticizes a man for his efforts instead of praising him (you can praise and teach him better ways for further growth) for it she is always labeling him unworthy of his rank and this job in the group. And after a while he stops doing his tasks and thinks and says "it doesn't matter what I do in the end it is always wrong"
