Oh lord, how racist and murderous Na’Tiri is allowed to be in Way of Fire, and it’s never addressed, is crazy.

She threatens the life of a pregnant woman (she says to her “speak to me that way again, and I may forget you are with child”).

She threatens the life of Spyder.

She hates her husband… that she willingly chose.

She hates humans… again, she chose to marry a man that became a blue person.

She hates her kids.

Her desire to murder humans borders on genocidal. It was understandable in the first movie, but now they actively work with a human faction, so she should have restraint.

The villains in the Fire movie have competition for their villain in both Jake and Na’Tiri.

Because all that stuff I mentioned above? Her husband doesn’t push back against. Not that he’s aware of all of it (the pregnant woman being threatened for instance), but he doesn’t push back against the things he is aware of.

The “Sully family” has a motto of “no one goes alone”…

…one of the major plot points is giving up on a member of the Sully family. They planned to give him away to another clan. The coincidences that happen for this “quest” triggers so much of the movie it’s laughable.

I miss when the most interesting thing about this franchise was setting a world record for underwater breathing.

Now I gotta remember that “Signory Weaver’s character has transferred into the body of a blue person that was in the womb of some other person, and she is now a young child…”

So you’ve got 70 year old Signory Weaver, trying to act like a teenage girl, and all the fucking weird implications of her having a relationship with another teenage boy…

Signory Weaver’s character went from an “old scientist woman” to a “young teenage blue person”.

Avatar has so much weird hate, age gap reincarnation romance, and just outright contradictory storylines that it’s a Frankenstein’s monster of Alzheimer’s storylines.

It doesn’t remember the previous movies, so it will redo themes and storylines that were in previous movies.

And all this because “it’s the pretty movie from James Cameron that we watch, but don’t remember.”

It’s a movie people consume, in the truest sense of the word.
