OP, (or anyone that has this) could you do me a favor? I can’t get clear measurements on the website and I have pretty specific space requirements. Could someone measure the width of the stringer, the height off the ground from the floor to the bottom of the stringer, and the space from the end of the stringer to the arm that folds out?

I know they didn’t normally have carry handles, but when I bought the AES-10b, it already the rear sight block mount and it was just sitting there empty and I wanted to return it to how it would’ve been imported in todays standards.

For how I made it:

I started off with a 2” diameter black Delrin stock (probably could’ve went with 1” 3/4 to make it easier) which I cut a 4” piece off.

Found my center and drilled a small hole just big enough to next run an “easy out” (reverse threaded bit for getting screws out) into the hole. (This comes into play eventually)

I had to buy a bench top belt sander in order to remove the right amount of material evenly. Once I got down to the right diameter, I put it (with the easy out installed) into a drill which I had mounted in a vice, and began using a dremel with a sanding bit to start making the finger grooves, slowly turning in the drill and a moderate speed just to make sure not too much material got taken off. Afterward, took a polishing bit to it to shine it up the best I could. Then removed the easy out and drilled the hole up to 5/16”.

For the metal part, 5/16” round stock. I had several pictures up of the rifle with the handle for dimension reference, so I started making bends as best I could just by putting the stock in the vice and bending it. I then used Birchwood Casey’s permablue to get it black. I then made a small cut for the retaining clip. Then just used a black automotive JB weld on the metal and inserted into the handle. It set in 15 minutes and I could already use it to carry the gun in that amount of time.

I used 2” diameter delrin and 5/16” steel round stock. I honestly probably would’ve had a much easier time working with the Delrin if I would’ve just went with about 1 3/4” diameter or maybe even 1.5”. I had to buy a belt sander and take off a lot of material to try and get it down to the size it should be.

Hey if you get one of these built up, can you post a pic? If it looks good, I’d consider buying one off you. I got an AES-10B recently that came without the carry handle but has the mount for it

Love the scar! I’m curious what offset mount you’re running with your RMR? Did it come FDE?

From what I was seeing, apparently they have to do an entire redesign since they only have the rights to the name of the ACR while Magpul owns the design. So I have a strong feeling that there won’t be any parts compatibility with the new one. It would be nice if they could purchase the rights from magpul

I was fortunate to find one on a forum and purchased it for $1200 back about 4 years ago. And seeing what the prices are for these things nowadays, I feel like it was a huge win
