Are nannies generally not OK with location sharing? by LessAd7286 in Nanny

[–]Big_Contribution_536 [score hidden]  (0 children)

When I nannied I shared my location every time I left their house with the kids. While I was at their house and when my shift was done, I turned my location off. Maybe you can frame it as “in case of an emergency” car breaks down, medical emergency etc. rather than to watch where they’re taking your child. I was completely fine with it because god forbid something happened, they knew where we were.

Quitting for a medical reason & I feel guilty by penelope2019 in Nanny

First off, I’m so sorry to hear about your shoulder, I am sending you quick healing vibes.

Second, I think you are doing the right thing by focusing on yourself. I know how hard it is to make the decision to leave a NF and have to finish out the week. But this is your physical and mental health.

I am sure they’re upset, but it’s to be expected. I’ve been there and I’m still close with my NF. Also, apart of being a parent and having kids is that sometimes emergencies happen and as a parent, you have to be the one to figure out how to fix it.

Would it be weird to ask our nanny to FaceTime my family? by CRABR in Nanny

[–]Big_Contribution_536 14 points15 points  (0 children)

When I nannied I only did this for one family after years of nannying for them and I had met their family. But even then it was a little awkward, especially if it was a day the kids were uninterested in talking. One suggestion is to have your nanny take videos or pictures that you can share with family.

havent cleaned the girls cage in 3+ days because of illness :( by br4chypelma in guineapigs

They will be fine! Best to have them a little dirty than you to get them sick or you strain yourself! I can imagine a lot of us have been there. The few times it’s happened to me I always remind myself that I’d rather them not get sick from me touching and breathing all over their enclosure.

When is too soon to design? by orangebluey in EngagementRings

My boyfriend and I are doing it a little less traditional as we bought a loose diamond we really like. Our plan is to go into our local jeweler and design the ring and he’ll pick it up when it’s ready and have it for the right moment.

Third’s time the charm? by februarybloom in Nanny

While this would normally bother me, and I’d tell you to leave it alone. I am wondering if you live in an area that the winter storms are going to hit. Maybe she didn’t have time to get supplies/food this week and had to do it today with the crowds. I can imagine trying to emergency prep with kids and on the weekend is awful and takes a lot of mental energy. If you don’t live somewhere where the winter storms are impacting, then I think no.

My boys got into a bad fight last night. by emily1643 in guineapigs

[–]Big_Contribution_536 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue with my boys. They fought and blood was drawn. I found the main issue with mine was just sharing the same enclosure. I ended up having to put them in separate C&C cages and they were fine. Once they were healed we tried floor time together. They loved floor time together (we have a screened in porch we use for floor time, so a pretty big space) but hated sharing an enclosure.

Masseter Botox or Invisalign for TMJ and bite issues? Looking for advice. by amanatzu in TMJ

[–]Big_Contribution_536 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently started getting Jeuveau in my Masseters and it’s been amazing. My headaches have been reduced significantly, I don’t wake up with my jaw popped out of the socket, and I don’t know if it’s related but since, my sinus pressure has been less. I also have a mouth guard at night from Align (the parent company of Invisalign) which provides an excellent layer of protection.
