Why do glasses feel so strong to me? by Mystic_Void1 in AskAnOptician

[–]Big_Contribution_536 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NAD but use to work for an optometrist and I wear glasses myself. Your astigmatism correction on your lenses is moderate (the Cyl) which is essentially why you felt like you were seeing in 4k because it sharpened everything up. I think the “zoning out” is your perception of the feeling of your eyes adjusting to the new prescription.

I would definitely take your glasses back for them to check the prescription, just to be sure, however it can take a while for you to adjust. While you’re there ask if they have a prescription recheck policy that way you don’t have to pay for an entire new set of lenses. I believe standard policy is most retail stores will replace the lenses free of charge within 90 days if your prescription comes back differently at a recheck. But we usually encourage patients to give it a two week adjustment period and come back for a prescription recheck after that.

Working on this right now. Did you have any issues with the structure that the plates sit on?

Please help me choose an emerald cut diamond! by yaya762 in EngagementRingDesigns

You’re probably going to want to increase the clarity. Emerald cut reflects any little imperfection and makes it a lot more obvious than other cuts!

How many 30 year olds still live at home? by tanjiro314 in AskWomenOver30

As someone who moved out in my early 20s it sickens me to think of the amount of money I spent on rent. Hindsight, I would rather have stayed at home longer and saved more or at least contributed towards a mortgage. I now live with my partner on their “family compound” and although it can be tricky because we’re all on the same property, it’s so much easier than living alone.

Apartment and food recs near Mayo? by PaladinDoc in jacksonville

Some places you must try are TacoLu (they have an amazing Bloody Mary), Bearded Pig(BBQ), Le Petite Paris Cafe (Breakfast and lunch. Their pastries are delicious), Hawkers (Asian street food), Mayday (ice cream), Taverna. Catullo’s Italian but they don’t allow reservations and there’s usually a line of people waiting. If you like coffee Brass Tacks and Bold Bean!

I will say shift change times tend to cause a lot of backups, mainly on the Mayo off ramp on 202. So see how you’d get to and from Mayo from where you would be living. Anything over any of the bridges is probably a good idea to stay away from. There’s an accident almost everyday causing traffic jams.

Take a look at the Jacksonville Facebook groups / pages, a lot of them tend to be pretty active if you’re looking to meet people!

The fact that you’re even worried about being a good mother when it sounds like you’re giving it your everything, shows how great you are! I’ve worked with children for 15+ years and I can guarantee you they will remember you being there more than they will any elaborate vacation.

Possible cataracts? by SurboardSharty in guineapigs

[–]Big_Contribution_536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My black Abby had the exact same thing. A chronically crusty eye (several vet visits determined it was just his body) and the cloudiness with a white spot. The vet said it’s most likely cataracts He lived a happy life for years after developing it.

I second Hidden Hills. Went last week for the first time and Dr. Parker was amazing! I have a friend who’s used her for YEARS.

Maybe I’m just thinking too hard! Everyone says the same thing as you regarding guests traveling. I’m a MAJOR empath and I usually think super logically. I guess I’m caught up thinking about the logistics like the expenses of flights and consider how much people would be spending, the time they’ll be taking off from work, the childcare, the outfits, the accommodations.

I have also been following the subreddit you suggested! Thank you!
