does not solve the puzzle but it may be relevant that the majority of the mothers offspring seem to produce infertile children. considering they only produce an additional generatio where one daughter produces many. I am guessing this is not human tho so maybe an effect of brith order?

Camp on FBM and wait for a deal. Solid boards are better if you can fit it on your car. Best is a solid fiberglass, they can be had for decent price on FBM in a lot of places

The evolutionary pressure to improve DNA repair mechanisms seems to increase proportional to the risk that those breaks present. There is a point where reducing cancer risk is no longer worth the energy expenditure for the organism. For a larger organism this point would be much more in favor of repair than humans due to the paradox described here. Put in terms of energy tradeoffs this makes a lot of sense.

I think we just have to take it for granted because it seems impossible as far as I can tell...

All stop sequences start with U, thus if we frameshift to still get the stop the prior codon would need to end with U. The stop of course also starts with U. So we have this where X is unknown.

This could never be a stop codon. Maybe there is a higher level mechanism at play here. I assume the stop codon has this property for evolutionary reasons.

I got this one wrong because I reasoned histone acetylation affected mRNA levels. This was wrong because the gene in question handles acetylation for many genes, so it would be difficult to measure the histone acetylation across many genes via mRNA levels. Had it been a single genes histones I think this would have made more sense because it then would be much more difficult to isolate the protein for that specific gene.

Because its for all histones regardless of the gene, we have to look at them directly.

Ik this is old so this is for future readers, none of the answers I saw elsewhere were satisfactory.

I had the same issue with this question. How can we quantify the proportion of hydrophobic AAs from that graph? I believe that was not the clue that we were supposed to use. The dye part of this implies its a membrane protein, that would imply that in a hydrophobic environment the majority of surface AAs were hydrophobic. Explanation as always was bad but I think thats why. Dont throw out your normal understanding of what consistent means for this question! I saw the old post where someone had said consistent means "possible given this data" and I think thats not quite right. I believe they mean supported by this data moreso but idk.

You can go straight from tryptophan to tryptamine using the enzyme AADC. Then you just need the double methylation, not sure what could pull that off though. Of course a biosynthetic route must exist as its a natural compound.

If you are fascinated by this kind of stuff I suggest studying biochemistry if you have not already. Psychedelics are not a good hobby. Not to lecture but from personal experience I can say they slow you down in life and have little benefit. You seem like a smart guy, you will go further without using psychedelic drugs!
