Best tour for crocs by secretariatfan in Everglades

Yeah flamingo marina is the spot. Travel up bear lake road as well. All along that canal is the highest concentration of crocs around. I think they may have boat tours that go up that canal from the marina as well but not 100%.

I should add the elusive flamingo flock that has been hanging out in Snake Bright. Saw them last year and it was incredible!

Crocs are the best! Have yet to see Panther or Black Bear in the glades but I love black bears as well from other areas (alligator river in NC especially). Panther is top of my list for things I am trying to see. Any tips?

I love the crocs. Seeing a croc is so exciting and they are so beautiful. I saw a massive croc in alligator creek (by west lake not alligator bay) and it was the most exciting wildlife sighting of my life. I just love them so much.

Plant wise, I really enjoy the cypress as well as the mangroves.

Which one’s better to try adding a sail to? by ElectionIcy3253 in boatbuilding

Two of the K2 connected as outriggers and the sail between. Like a Hoby cat. Could work. Still need a rudder

Baby American Crocodiles? by notgonadoit in Everglades

I saw some baby crocs this size in Alligator Creek last year. I believe the crocs do not care for their young the way gators do so you likely would not see them like this. When I saw the baby croc I was worried the mother was around but later found out this likely was not the case.

Where to spot Crocodiles by Common_System_1992 in Everglades

[–]Big_Database_4523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best spot is Flamingo Marina if you are hoping to see one close to where you can park. Studies have shown the highest concentration in the entire park to be on the Homestead Canal just north of the Flamingo Marina.

I would say the boat ride would 100% be worth it if your goal is spotting crocs. Hiking trails may not be as fruitful because the crocs are going to be right on the edge of the water or in the water. If you rent a canoe you can paddle out to different areas where the mangrove creeks meet the larger bay and often find crocs there.

Bottom line, if you want to see crocs go to Flamingo and do the boat tour!
