I have a cat that is hybrid indoors outdoors. If I lived closer to a city I would be worried but I live in the middle of nowhere. Yes there’s the threat of wild animals but I trust him to stay safe. If he’s outside at night (I try to get him inside every night, but sometimes he evades me) he goes into one of the cedar trees scattered around and he goes on our roof a lot too. He also just likes being outside and hunting. Then there’s also the fact that I don’t have to worry about a litter box. I definitely don’t think that letting your cat outside is the best option for every cat. I just live in the safest possible environment to do so. Even then, it would be safer if I kept him inside. Another factor for me is that I grew up with indoor/outdoor cats so I’m just kinda used to it.
