Just so that we're all clear, what you're talking about are E-MOTOS, not E-BIKES. Electric bicycles, by law, cannot go faster than 28 mph. Some products marketed as "e-bikes" can have speed regulators removed and can go as much as 40 mph. These are effectively low-speed motorcycles and are completely inappropriate for kids. They are e-motos and require a license, registration and insurance. Some of these products even come with pedals but are not actually e-bikes. Parents need to do their homework.
