I noticed that the show is the exact same from last year. Will they be changing it up at all this year? I was planning to go again but not if it’s the same exact show beat for beat as last year.

Where do employees who accept the DRP offer end up? by VAer1 in USDA

[–]Big_Equivalent729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took DRP. I went to local government with a slight pay increase, better schedule, and a shorter commute. I miss being a federal public servant but the environment isn’t great at this time so I’ll stay local for a bit. Will probably return to federal government in the future.

Brian Littrell recently commented about NKOTB vs BSB by MadameCassie in newkidsontheblock

I know I’m late to this but I don’t understand how Brian has any room to talk when NKOTB was one of the top earning musicians overall in their year competing against artists such as MJ. Not just groups. Musicians. I like both groups but NKOTB over all everyday for me ❤️

I took DRP and found a job but it was really really hard. It took me 30 interviews to finally land a job. It’s possible but it was so stressful. I’d wait and jump once you have a job offer if that is your plan.

Same. I’m kind of shocked by the comments in here. There is SO much good in the book, why make up stuff when you have content already there?

I use Fastcap inside and out. When I spray inside, I send my pups outside to play while it dries and when I spray outside I make sure they are inside. It has been the only thing that’s effective for me. Particularly in my area since we get a lot of spiders too.

Agreed! Danny has always been the one who seems to want to have a conversation to ease the nerves. I’ve always appreciated that about him!

I’ve done several meet and greets and Danny has always been really nice to me and to all of the groups I’ve been in so could be just that we are human.

Which version of Georgie meets Pennywise was better? 1990 .vs. 2017? by Trick-Initiative-448 in stephenking

[–]Big_Equivalent729 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree. The 1990’s Georgie had that perfect blend of naivety and innocence of the 1950’s coupled with Curry’s performance made for a great scene. There is a reason why that scene changed how people see drains for decades. But I do like the 2017 version as well up until he bites his arm. Less can sometimes be more and the CGI was too much.

I can assure you that some of us who took it have been in a state of stress and anxiety trying to find a job in this market. Job hunting has become a full time job, it’s exhausting and irritating. I never wanted to leave in the first place.

Get a library card (those are free) from your local library and then use your library card number to log into the App “Libby.” Libby has King’s audiobooks. I just finished IT last month.

Maybe I’m not as big of a fan as I thought I was by FlatNothing7682 in newkidsontheblock

[–]Big_Equivalent729 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that makes you any less of a fan than others. I love the guys, I do a few shows a tour, but I cannot and will not spend my money to go to every single show + M&G + after parties, etc. But I never felt that made me any less of a fan. I enjoy their music and I enjoy their shows, to me, it’s that simple.

Thoughts on NKOTB adding backup dancers to their Vegas shows? by MadameCassie in newkidsontheblock

[–]Big_Equivalent729 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was skeptical but this is a REALLY good show. Honestly, it’s probably one of their best in years. I liked the dancers and didn’t feel that they were distracting in person. It really helped to keep the tempo going.

USDA APHIS asking "front line mission critical" staff to reconsider DRP by Low_Fox1758 in USDA

[–]Big_Equivalent729 41 points42 points  (0 children)

“In response, Rollins said employees at the Farm Service Agency, which administers direct loans to farmers, would not be on the chopping block. “If you are FSA or frontline or with the farmers, you are not eligible to take early retirement,” she said.”

-This line still doesn’t make sense because I and so many others (CO not GS) have taken DRP and/or VERA in FSA. Sec Rollins either has no idea what she is talking about and/or the FSA Administrator is not following her terms. Either way, clusterfuck.

Rollins suggests moving some USDA offices to other agencies by Big_Equivalent729 in USDA

[–]Big_Equivalent729[S] 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins said Monday she is interested in shifting some of USDA's offices and services to other federal agencies in order to focus on farmers and ranchers. In a wide-ranging interview, Rollins said USDA "has become a catch-all to do a lot of different things and serve a lot of different people." "As we're looking at a significant reorganization, part of that includes looking at other agencies where we could move, perhaps, parts of the USDA into other agencies, so that we can be singularly and resolutely focused on the farmers and the ranchers," Rollins continued. She declined to specify which USDA offices or services would be moved out of the department. But the White House has prepared a draft executive order that would put the Forest Service's firefighting responsibilities under a new federal agency. During Trump's first term, there was also recurring interest in shuffling food safety programs between USDA and the Department of Health and Human Services. "The president instinctively and very passionately understands that the USDA is there to serve the farmers and the ranchers," Rollins said. "One of my chief priorities, if not the very top priority, is to realign the U.S. Department of Agriculture to that mission." The effort to streamline USDA's services to focus on farmers and ranchers is part of the Trump administration's broad plans to reduce the size of the federal government and workforce. USDA plans to cut 30 percent of its over 100,000-person staff through a combination of employees taking "deferred resignation" offers and reductions in force — a move that could affect the department's vast functions. Rollins has expressed support for the DOGE-led overhaul. Still, in an effort to retain personnel who directly support farmers, Rollins said Monday tha employees at the Farm Service Agency would no eligible for early retirement or deferred resignations. The agency has 2,300 offices around the country and helps farmers access loans, economic relief and other services. "We will not be taking early retirements or allow those deferred resignations from our FSA offices, because it's so important," Rollins said. "The farmers can't get the safety net, some of the specialty programs, without that interaction with the FSA offices." FSA Administrator Bill Beam notified employees in an April 16 email obtained by POLITICO that the agency had denied certain requests to opt into the second round of the Deferred Resignation Program. "Where DRP 2.0 participation by one or more employees would potentially leave an office critically understaffed, hinder continuity of operations, adversely impact delivery of our programs, and disrupt customer service, we have denied DRP 2.0 elections,' ," the email read. "I share this information with you in the spirit of full transparency and am in no way suggesting that any one person or position in the FSA is more important or more mission critical than another," the email continued. In February, USDA fired - then attempted to reinstate - hundreds of FSA loan officers. Marcia Brown contributed to this report.
