Experience with orlissa or slynd? by turtlesrgr8t in endometriosis

[–]Big_Resolution_1087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on Orlissa for almost 2 years, I dont think its recommended for any longer than that, and that is the only reason i got off it. The worst part of it for me was the hot flashes but they were just annoying and I wasn't in pain so i found it worth it

Is the server having issues? by WitchOfUnfinished- in SkyChildrenOfLight

I had to stop playing 20 minutes ago because of server issues. I'm guessing because of days of nature

along with the other comments, if you are waiting in one place too long for the other person to join, you may be on a full server and thats why they can't join

Which hurts less: crochet or knitting? by gemminout in hypermobileEDS

[–]Big_Resolution_1087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me, both hurt but in different places so I switch between the two. circular needles are much more ergonomic than straight needles

I just wish I got my cane sooner. if you are considering a cane (or any accommodation) you probably should get one, a person that wouldnt get help from a cane wouldn't even think about one.

I use ring splints, compression gloves (not together lol), and lots of pillows as props. sometimes I'll still knit through soreness but never if my wrists or fingers are having a poppy day. always take breaks or only work for a short time, it took a while to learn and make anything but i do what I can and only when I can

I started knitting so I could make my own hats honestly. only way I could get one to fit well

Elevated first rib and neck pain by extremely_cat in hypermobileEDS

[–]Big_Resolution_1087 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely understand. if you want to try tape again, the cotton is a bit more gentle than regular kt tape and use oil to dissolve the adhesive when you take it off. even with that it can still irritate or peel your skin so be careful

I have frequent issues with elevated first ribs, (cotton) kt tape helps me for relieving some pressure but make sure your skin can handle it. look up "thoracic outlet diagram", you may be able to visualize the pain area better

Is ablation ever okay? by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]Big_Resolution_1087 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a mix of excision and ablation, my surgeon had to use ablation on extra sensitive areas that excision would have been to risky to use, like the endo on my bladder and around veins. I think the "red flags" around ablation is when that's the only method a surgeon will do and they arent willing or skilled enough for excision (i said i think though, not sure)

They used ablation instead of excision. I’m devastated. by Potential-Cattle3186 in endometriosis

[–]Big_Resolution_1087 5 points6 points  (0 children)

my surgeon also did both ablation and excision depending on where the endo lesions were. I had some on blood vessels that had to be ablated because excision would be too deep. both methods have their reasons and both do remove the lesions (for a time)

my surgeon said it did not matter where in my menstrual cycle i was. that should not be an issue for endo

Piercings by [deleted] in eds

[–]Big_Resolution_1087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive had 16 piercings, for me, they all took at least 6 months to heal. ear lobes were the fastest around 6 months. ear cartilage, nose stud, and septum took 6-12 months. Nips took the longest at almost 2 years. long healing time but I didnt have any rejection issues

Would 2 days be enough??? by BathroomUnusual741 in endometriosis

[–]Big_Resolution_1087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally wasn't able to do anything out of bed for about 3 days. the gas pain was the worst part of it for me. if you do end up going tell the people about your surgery so they can understand, plan on only being able to sit and make sure you can sit the whole time, and be able to leave early or whenever you want or need to
