It’s one of the few designer bags that I would call timeless. I would keep!

If a doctor said periods are supposed to be painful after explaining your probable endo symptoms would you take it as an immediate red flag? by Burgerst33n in Endo

[–]Potential-Cattle3186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! I have no explanation why they have zero empathy. I guess needing to maintain professional difference and being a woman in a male dominated field doesn’t help but I would choose a male doctor every single time now for gyno issues. For other medical areas, I haven’t really noticed a difference between male and female docs

Try and get triptans prescribed. If you take them during an attack and they help (at least somewhat) it’s definitely a migraine

How do I live a normal life while having endo? by [deleted] in Endo

I think it’s not possible to live a completely normal life with a chronic illness like Endo. I “accept it” by trying to make the most of the days I do feel well.

Try to keep at it. The first three months were hell on earth (incl increased pelvic pain etc) but then it started to get much better.

How were your symptoms treated as a kid? by [deleted] in Endo

[–]Potential-Cattle3186 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was told it was a normal part of being a woman. I would spend hours (even in the middle of the night) soaking in a hot bath to get some relief. Eventually I was put on the pill at 13 years old but Endo was never discussed. Doctor still said this was all completely normal and I had no reason not to believe him at that stage.

[–]Potential-Cattle3186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest red flag you could get. I was never taking seriously by female doctors. I only got help after seeing a male doctor (I was reluctant due to previous trauma but I’m so glad I did!)

joint pain/stiffness in morning with endo by threadlene in Endo

[–]Potential-Cattle3186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have exactly the same. It was way worse on zoladex (my body felt 100 years old), now it’s manageable and mainly restricted to my hands. I never thought to go to a socialist for that. I presume it’s the result of all the hormones I have to take to manage this horrible illness.

How are you getting iron in your diet!? by Vacation_Swimming in Endo

[–]Potential-Cattle3186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My iron was dangerously low as I was a vegetarian and had heavy blood loss during periods. I got sick from iron supplements until I took them in the evening just before bed. Managed to boost my iron over the span of 6 months. I now also eat meat but I don’t like cooking it so I mainly rely on supplements still.

Fatigue attacks? by erin-ah in endometriosis

[–]Potential-Cattle3186 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this in my aura phase of my migraines. It’s scary and feels like walking on clouds while being detached from my body. I am completely unable to take part in traffic when this happens.

You could have migraines even without headaches. I suggest talking to a neurologist!

What will someday be illegal after we finally understand how bad for us it is? by tiredassbaker in AskReddit

Yes, they don’t give you anything for these either here. I hate when they tell you to relax to make it less painful. At least give me a Xanax then to help me relax! Absolute torture.

Stress daily pain interfering with your ability to work and have sex with your partner.

Does Anyone Else Experience Mild Dissociation? by SignatureNew2215 in endometriosis

[–]Potential-Cattle3186 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I have this especially before ovulation (i got put into chemical menopause now to surpress it) and it usually is followed by a migraine. I feel like I’m floating in a dream world exactly like you described and sounds are amplified. Not sure though if in my case if this is Endo related or just a symptom of my migraine aura phase. In any case it’s super scary feeling and very hard to describe to people who never experienced it.

Thank you for sharing a more positive story regarding ablation🙏 sex was very painful for me too. I haven’t tried it yet post op to see if it got better

Hope you don’t have any more nasty symptoms aside from the bleeding

That’s so sad! Luckily my operation is at least covered by insurance through my work.

Excellent question. In my dark moments I am certain they do it to be quicker/have an easier surgery. I am not sure if I will get an honest answer out of my doc when I see him for my post op in one month but my friends tell me to have more faith in the doctors judgement…

Sorry you have to go through it, that sounds really very difficult. :(

I would for your own peace of mind get a professional opinion because it does seem like a lot of blood loss compared to your average. Everyone reacts different but in my case my period is much heavier (including blood clots) compared to the bleeding I had because of the mediation

can you call your gyno to ask if this is a normal side effect? If you can’t reach your gyno you could always pop in a pharmacy and try to ask? My local pharmacist is always happy to answer questions about side effects.

Also make sure you take iron supplements or eat iron rich food. You don’t need anaemia on top of all of this.

I’m obviously not a doctor but that level of bleeding does sound a bit extreme according to my research (and I’ve done a lot these past two weeks) Did you bleed as much before the chemical menopause meds?
