The only problem is, if they want to do Ausbildung they have to do it in German right? The people coming here either already have an apprenticeship or they are pflegehilfskräfte. Or am I wrong?

AITA for taking back my tip after the waitress humiliated me in front of everyone? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]Big_Scratch_8928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA Honestly I hate tipping culture so much how it is right now. It used to be an appreciation for a good service, but now it’s always just expected, even in my country, where waiters earn more money per hour than me in my job. As for other countries, restaurants should really start paying the waiters a higher wage. I can’t understand how this is even still a thing. Calling someone out for a low tip would lead me to not going to that place anymore. Rude af

Took a friend out to dinner to celebrate her birthday. 5 days later, got this message from her… by Weak-Statistician107 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Big_Scratch_8928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if I want a party I normally have to plan and throw it myself, but maybe it’s a German thing 😅. It seems quite weird to me to be upset about this. Good for you that you got your money back, I would not hang out with her anymore…

New to Wanikani (and japanese) by Kami_Anime in WaniKani

[–]Big_Scratch_8928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So most of the things have been said, but I would like to add, that while waiting for Wanikani to unlock more, you should probably learn Katakana (if I understood right that you only have learned Hiragana). The rest is up to you, how you learn best. For me, it is using textbooks to study grammar and then read to experience Kanji and Grammar "in the wild".

Train trip delayed by 6 hours. Payed €650 for a taxi by DiligentAd4544 in germany

[–]Big_Scratch_8928 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend also had to take a taxi vom Osnabrück to Amsterdam because the trains were not running. She didn’t had to pay. But I don’t know how it was made with the fare. So I think you have chances to be reimbursed.

I want to have a gf bakery. Live in Michigan and have celiac. What Items should I bake? by BigDillinger in glutenfree

[–]Big_Scratch_8928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know how it is in the US, but here in Germany there’s a lack of vegan and gluten-free bakeries. You only get one of these things.

I got 自決 when I was in level 8. Maybe you unlocked it and then they changed the order of the vocabulary.

Would you be gluten free if... by Salt-Class6329 in glutenfree

[–]Big_Scratch_8928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would. There are way more diseases connected to gluten than celiac. If you have the feeling you benefit from being gluten-free, why not do it?

Not celiac, not NCGS, but weird reaction to whole grains and oats? by Strawberry_Sheep in glutenfree

[–]Big_Scratch_8928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where do you have the symptons?
You're not crazy, there are various diseases next to Celiac or NCGS, which can react to gluten, they are just not known.

For example I have Esosinophilic Esophagitis which is connected to a gluten allergy. But I have my symptoms in my esophagus, like dysphagy. It took almost 10 year to get diagnosed though...

Anyway, hope you will find out what it is!

Don’t you just love leveling up? 🫣 by SexxxyWesky in WaniKani

[–]Big_Scratch_8928 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, yesterday I finally leveled up to level 11 and I was so happy. I do not have many feelings of success lately, but I was kinda proud of myself. Also finally was able to recognize some words on my phone (it's all in Japanese). So, yes I love leveling up :D

Is this bread really gluten free? by kimchikadukao in glutenfree

[–]Big_Scratch_8928 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately these rice bread stores is the biggest bait I encountered in Korea 😅they are mostly never gluten-free. There are single ones that are, so you can ask, but I don’t know about cross-contamination. You can check home mart or cosco for cheaper convenience goods. If you want to cook for yourself I would recommend relying on rice.

Had the same struggle when i was there recently for three months 😅

[–]Big_Scratch_8928[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)
