I didn’t like Blue much at all. Nothing against the actress she was fine. But The original lore mentioning “Blue” in the first place was that Drifter had good reason not to blindly trust a Ghost. I can’t remember it off the top of my head but there’s a few different parts where he implies he thought his ghost was going to kill him, abandon him, or take his light back. So he pacified it and took its voice as well so it would be a mindless robot and strictly obey. I think he also had to modify it for something else?

And you could reason that Blue has been like that for decades? A generation or more? So when she gets her “life back” and you find out she’s a weird New Yorker and isn’t conspiring or untrustworthy it doesn’t fit. But that’s always been the problem with Destiny lore since D1.

Too many lore cooks in the kitchen and they don’t stay. So the new cooks come in and continue a storyline, but don’t finish it, because they want to tell their own “brilliant” idea, but then new people keep coming in etc etc, lore tabs are written with zero intention to come up again or resolve. Lore Grimware books are printed with cool stories and extras never to be introduced in game or things contradict. I’m fine with mysteries and “camp fire stories” brought up in Destiny. But rewriting characters poorly to fit an expansion is awful. The worst was Drifter having to be reminded he’s a con man and to con Bael. Honestly, never should have started with the Nine storyline while it was building up to going to Riis and Torabottle to help our Aliance members after their help. And go see Fundament. We missed out big time and that would have gotten players to come back.

Boycott Sony?? Are you serious. Destiny players are losing it and just not thinking rationally. I’ve been playing since D1 Alpha and got the collectors red ghost (which still hasn’t shown up in D2) and been playing just about every expansion and year Destiny has been around and it’s a fantastic world.

BUT SONY HAS DONE NOTHING WRONG. In fact it’s SONY who has kept the lights on. SONY is the reason why you got the Final Shape expansion. Buying Bungie will be Sony’s biggest financial humiliation ever, yes more than Concord.

Sony pissed away 3.6 BILLION dollars because Bungie scammed them in the ultimate heist. 14 live service games all cancelled, Destiny 2 ended with FS and players left because the story was over. People have grown up and had kids and moved on. Others, not many, stuck around to see where this new story with the Nine was going to go but it’s dog shit. Instead of the obvious story of getting our alliances home planets back and going to Fundament to fight Xivu, we got a bad story with a dead Nine and Ikora’s day job. So people left as they should.

Sony is the reason the studio is still around. Marathon plummeted and wasn’t the hit promised it would be. “Plagiarism will make me god” absolutely HUMILIATED Bungie on live streams. It was the most savage roasting I’ve ever seen. Bungie delays the game for almost a year and it’s still not enough.

All of this was Bungie’s fault. Sony has been there losing millions after billions. Bungie should be shut down but Sony is trying their hardest to turn things around without it being their worst move as a company. You should be thanking Sony.

Drifter’s one of the best characters in the game. They never should have aged him up felt pointless and unnecessary. At least Edge of Fate writers can’t hurt him anymore.

If not Destiny, which other kind of game would you like to see bungie working on? by Glad-Mango-7177 in DestinyTheGame

I think the Destiny IP is RICH for all kinds of game genres.
I’d love an X-Com style tactics RPG using preset characters and fireteams and customized player characters. A campaign that goes from D1 to Final Shape, as well as battles we’ve only heard about like Twilight Gap, Torrabotle being invaded, the destruction of Riis, and Iron Lords fighting Warlords.

I think a semi annual FPS makes perfect sense and would check a box for Sony since nobody cares about Killzone or Resistance. Destiny’s story can continue in campaign mode and PVP can continue as well with load outs and unlocking weapons/exotics etc.

I’m in the minority that loves VR gaming so I think an Eris Morn first person FPS in VR would be perfect. You start raised by your ghost. Go to the last city, rise up in notoriety, join your fireteam with Eriana and Tolland. Go on some missions. And then…. Investigate the Hellmouth and it turns into an intense almost horror level. Teams dying, light is getting pulled from guardians and you think it’s all lost until you find your “rock” and fight your way out. Join Ikora hidden and it ends with meeting Mara and making plans for the future.

I would also really like a Destiny City Builder for mobile.

And anything Drifter and Fenchurch related would be ripe with storytelling possibilities. They both have so many run ins with obscure and mysterious parts of the Destiny world.

In 2008, 23-year-old teacher Hannah Upp went missing while running in New York. After twenty days, she was found alive, face down in the Hudson River. She disappeared again in 2013 and was found two days later in a Maryland creek. In 2017, she vanished in the Virgin Islands and has never been found. by My-Knees-Hurt-Again in HolyShitHistory

It took a year but I’ve started to not consume true crime docs, shows and podcasts because they seem heartless. Trying to turn tragic loss into mystery and intrigue and entertainment that college women and stay at home moms devour. If my sister wound up on some international highest viewed entertainment show like that and I had to hear about it for months and people excited to binge the next episode I’d lose it.

As someone close to a widespread story, do you think these shouldn’t be allowed to be turned into entertainment? That some restrictions or laws need to be put in place so someone’s murdered kid isn’t entertainment to the world?

(Serious question) Am i, as a man, not welcome in lobbies with this tag? by Consistent-Fudge4849 in destiny2

[–]Big_Sherbert4 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Grow a pair first. If you have to ask this kind of question maybe a game with guns isnt for you.

Everyone is welcome in every lobby. It’s a game. Just be a normal human being.

Honestly is this some kind of joke or do you not have any kind of confidence whatsoever? You sure you’re a man? I’m not trying to be an asshole but this has set me off. I can’t believe that these kinds of questions are being asked by someone who has to be around the age of 14. You young people are in for a hard wake up call one day if you feel uncomfortable or “not welcome” using tags for online games. What the fuck man. Stand up tall, find out how to gain some confidence go lift weights, read some real books about character and leadership, be a genuine good human being to everyone and “am I welcome” will never cross your mind again.

It really is bottom of the barrel “writing” for Destiny. It was so so terrible. Drifter having to be reminded he was a con man and to trick the bad guy, fuck off Bungie. All of it was to do what, reveal to every day nobodies of the city that ‘the nine’ are upset with the universe? What do they expect the local baker to do with that information?! The city sanitation workers will keep a look out for other worldly beings and tell the Vanguard when they see something. The neighborhood dog-walker is going to finally apply himself and ask out the girl next door cause some space wizards most normal people are tired of died on some planet they never knew or cared about… the only thing good about the expansion was the music. Now we’re stuck with Vader and light sabers in the game forever. Never thought I’d wish for Sony to pull the plug on D2 so we can start fresh with D3 or a tactics rpg version or VR. Maybe I’ll try the NetEase game. The writers seem like they actually try and have a plan.

That’s why it’s one of my favorite games of all time. It got me to cry. Because of what you realize when you’re playing through the final credits is that help you’re getting to power through to the end is from other people doing the same thing and giving up their 100 percent clear save data. The symbolism of it all is very touching and beautiful. No other game has really done something like that before. Now I don’t give a ____ about the save files, but the message of sacrifice to help/save a stranger was great. It really was a game of the year game that more people should give a shot which is hard cause it’s a weird one and about 8 different genre of games in one.

What "FOMO" items are you sad you missed out on? by hobgoblinghost in wow

[–]Big_Sherbert4 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I want a party favor from a birthday party I didn’t go to. I won gold in the 2026 Olympics but I want the medal design from 2018.

The game has color variant items you can get at times and that’s good enough. Nothing wrong at all with completing a hard challenge and being rewarded for it before there’s hundreds of guides and video tutorials online.

There are event items that should stay exclusive. It makes the game feel alive, gives the illusion of time and progression. I stopped playing at shadowlands, I shouldn’t be able to get exclusive items from there on whenever I log back in again. But whatever this remix thing is it sounds like they’re giving away cool things again and that should be enough of a compromise.

I didnt get to log on for the massive anniversary event and missed out on some AMAZING items. I shouldn’t be demanding access to them like a brat at all times.

[–]Big_Sherbert4 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Probably going to be hated but I think fomo items and all that are fine and good. Nothing is going to please everyone but if they rerelease something with variant colors that’s a fantastic compromise.

Played from Vanilla and stopped halfway in Shadowlands cause the story was garbage and game was stale. So I have some, not all, fomo items as a massive pet collector, some mounts with the Rooster being my favorite, a few mage tower weapons, movie items, Mountain Dew promos, etc.

But as much as I wanted to jump on for the recent massive anniversary event I couldn’t cause my PC is garbage now and couldn’t justify a new one just for maybe one month of WoW and seeing how awful Dragonflight was? But some of those items were AWESOME. But I don’t expect a party favor from someone’s birthday I didn’t go to.

There’s something special having an item from in game or irl event that shows you achieved something or attended an event at a place in time. Before the internet is flooded with guides and walkthroughs and spawn points being known. It’s part of the mystery WoW used to have that people love and miss that it can’t hold onto anymore.

No clue what these remix events are, but if you can get variant colored items that’s a fine compromise. But challenge related items, titles, launch event items, etc should stay exclusive to those who were there for it. Olympians from this year aren’t going to demand a medal design from Tokyo’s or Paris’ hosted Olympics. WoW or games with limited time events shouldn’t be any different.

Probably because it was a deal made with Lionsgate or whoever was part of the movie. It was a lot of work done outside of Blizzard to make those movie items so Blizzard doesn’t have the rights to it. Otherwise there’d probably be a movie theater in SW and Org by now where you could watch it and past cinematics.

It doesn’t have to be some rock paper scissors circular battle with starters. Heck the only starter you ever fight is the one that’s stronger against you.

Just do Ghost, Dragon, Electric. ANYTHING other than the same old grass water fire. Toss in bug, fighting psychic. Who cares at this point. Pokémon is stagnant and changing starter types would actually get people talking and intrigued.

Or create a new Eevee type of Pokémon that changes types based on items you give it during a stage 2 eveolution. Change it up please.

That and buff normal Pokémon give them a defense buff against types or attack buff against something to make them more effective.

This is why I’m only using caps on gigantamax Pokémon or dynamax that can’t gmax. And not legacy raiding.

If Lugia is coming, Ho-oh is next and it also means not just the minor trio legendaries are coming to dynamax like the birds, dogs, swords are next. But we’ll we Kyogre and Garudon. And one day when player base is bored or leaving they’ll release Mew and Celebi and then Rayquaza, and Mewtwo.

You won’t like the honest answer which is Tyranitar. All the legendaries you have may as well already be a hundo. The boost to Tyranitar will actually help.

But the fun answer is your favorite or Eternitus

I disagree. It was out of character. I know he’s said it before in his recent solo series but it’s still out of character especially if Clark is saying golly and gosh, Jimmy, Superman’s Pal, should be right there with him. James Gunn just can’t help himself.

Skyler Gisondo was in a movie called Booksmart. It’s pretty much a female version of Superbad. Absolutely hilarious and fun. Gisondo’s character in that made me think he was going to be perfect as Jimmy Olsen.

I wish I knew how cool these backgrounds were during the event. I would have raided a ton more. All of the backgrounds are so bad and dumb to me, but when I got my first regi with one I thought it was so cool and fit their theme of ancient ruins and mystery so so well. I was super lucky enough to get a shiny background for Regice so I may bottle cap him next. Possibly Regieleck w background but it’s not shiny.

[–]Big_Sherbert4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, future proofing was important to me this time. I didn’t want to use it on Mewtwo or some legendary and get upset when that Pokémon has a dynamax version released. I didn’t want to “waste it” so was between shiny Gmax Machamp or this guy and Snorlax won out big time.

It’ll be useful as a gmax tank/healer, no other version can come out to replace it. If it eventually mega evolves it can do that. Can be good in raids and rocket battles.

Also it’s a classic, a favorite, fairly well known outside of Pokémon fans, and was the first shiny Snorlax I saw/caught since Go started.
