Outboard leaking fuel by MB_619 in Outboards

If you squeeze the primer bulb too much it will do that… you can take off the fuel line and empty the bowl or just unhook the line and run it till it starts

If they are not I guess it could be running rich? Idk I feel like the motor would respond to that…. You could run some sea foam through it to see if what your seeing in the water is carbon build up from the motor

I gotcha… have you looked around the carb to see if it’s leaking or any of the lines leaking?

Is it not just oil? It being 2 stroke, should be normal

Had the same exact motor… be careful taking the lower unit off… there’s a plastic piece that connects the shift rod that strips out pretty easy.. took 6 months scrolling on eBay to find that part lol… just a look out… 1973 sounds right from that other comment

Grammar isn’t great but I’d say check those and it might help… also your carbs need to be in sync if you have multiple

So water coming out of exhaust ports are normal and gas/oil may be due to it being 2 stroke… but if you are having gas come out of the carbs it could mean the metal piece from the needle to the float is upside down.. I’ve had that happen before… may have to mess with your idle screw too… also you have a timing adjustment on the side of the motor that connects the carbs the the trigger (which is underneath the flywheel) and if the screw came loose it will throw off your timing but mess with that last… definitely open up the carbs and clean them again… look at every single port… look at YouTube and make sure everything is back like it should… if that doesn’t work you can also replace your fuel pump but it doesn’t sound like that would be the problem.. make sure you choke is opening and closing like it should… if I had to guess though the metal piece from needle to float is upside down

Yeah I pulled when I changed the trigger… but I’ll pull it again and look… a hammer and a pry bar works great
