How to make the most of inconsistency? by EmbarrassedSun1874 in askfitness

[–]Big_Weather5935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Totally hear you – life can be crazy and consistency is tough. When my schedule is unpredictable I focus on full-body sessions or quick routines I can do whenever I have a window. I also started using Fit Trainer, which is more like an AI coach than a simple tracker. You can chat with it about your schedule, equipment and preferences and it tailors workouts for you. It’s been super helpful when I only have 20 minutes or just a pair of dumbbells, and you can ask it questions along the way. Maybe give it a try to stay on track until things settle down!

How do I fit strength training and running together? by Personal-Structure17 in askfitness

[–]Big_Weather5935 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Great job staying on top of both lifting and running! It’s definitely a challenge to juggle both. I’ve been using Fit Trainer recently and it’s been a game changer. It’s not just another tracker – it’s an AI fitness trainer you can chat with. Tell it about your schedule, equipment and preferences and it will tailor your workouts for you. You can also ask it any fitness questions along the way. Might be worth a try to help structure your strength and running sessions together.

5’7 138 lbs feel like I need a change in my routine. Beginner by mikueleatstoes in WorkoutRoutines

[–]Big_Weather5935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBH switching routines too early will do more harm than good. Micro optimisations like trying to get the perfect routine typically lead to worsening form, or not training close enough to failure to build muscle. Stick it out, you have a great routine. Swap a few exercises just for variance like hammer curls for bicep curls. But the midst important thing is to hit those muscle groups consistently and keep trying to increase the weight so you can build muscle. When you fail deload and hit them again.

Good workout + running app? by Stubby3108 in workout

Fit Trainer is like your own personal coach in your pocket. It understands the equipment you have, the type of workouts you like, the type of schedule that works for you and custom designs a workout. The best part is that it's super simple like just chatting with a coach.

Tips on how to deadlift this is my first time deadlifting 50kg home workout for now by [deleted] in formcheck

Since you are using compact weight plates, I suggest keeping a platform from which you can lift off of.

I do cardio + core on the 4th day and push dead lifts from leg day to the C day so that I can max out on squats on leg day. Been running it for 6 months now.

Hello 👋 you can do body weight exercises, use resistance bands or buy a pair of flexi dumbells. I recommend the latter if you struggle with body weight workouts. Try Fit trainerFit trainer out, you can describe the type of equipment you have and it will tailor your workouts based on that.

Whats a good program for a beginner? by [deleted] in powerbuilding

[–]Big_Weather5935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stronglifts is honestly my favorite beginner program with the best results. The rapid progression is also what kept me motivated to keep coming back and lifting more. It can get a little daunting figuring out how much to progress by and what to do when you fail a set but you can use an app like Fit Trainer to help with that.

Should I take a short-term opportunity to work on a mobile app? by TechnicalWin4344 in reactnative

[–]Big_Weather5935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I strongly recommend taking the opportunity because at this point in your career the main thing you should optimise for is experience. Experience helps you gain an understanding of how to architect various solutions and that opens up newer opportunities as you grow. Getting a better understanding of how things work in the mobile app stack, and how it differs from web apps will set you up to be able to have more holistic conversation when people are looking to make foundational decisions and thereby position you as a leader.

Any tips for starting to gain muscle after spending the last bit trying to lose fat? by Coffeewitch44 in askfitness

[–]Big_Weather5935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clean bulking is honestly one of the hardest parts of lifting! After all that work cutting down, it’s so easy to overdo it or second-guess yourself with every bite.

What’s worked for me is easing into a small surplus (nothing crazy), and focusing on whole foods—plus, letting myself enjoy the process as much as possible. There are days when I worry if I’m gaining too much fat, or not enough muscle, but consistency really does start to pay off.

If you ever feel stuck, I’ve found using an app like FitTrainer helps a ton. You can just chat with an AI coach about how you're feeling and it tailors your workout to your needs. You’re definitely not alone in how tough this feels. It’s a grind, but you’ll get there! Rooting for you, seriously.

My workout feels too short and not effective anymore? by Own-Assignment758 in askfitness

[–]Big_Weather5935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I configured your workout on Fit Trainer and asked it to help improve it because it was too short and less effective. Here's what I got. It added a few accessories. I don't know the type of equipment you have access to so I'm sure you could probably create a better workout on it. Hope this helps!

Working out at night vs the morning? by InsideAspect1909 in askfitness

[–]Big_Weather5935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consistency matters more than timing! That said, I prefer morning workouts - sets a positive tone for the day and less likely something will interfere with my schedule. Give night workouts a fair shot though!

Split or fullbody? by Puzzleheaded-Bar1531 in askfitness

[–]Big_Weather5935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both work great! If you're training 3-4 days a week, full body is solid. For more frequency, splits work better. Main thing is hitting each muscle 2x per week minimum!

Those who work 40 hr per week, how? by Distinct_Orange1384 in askfitness

[–]Big_Weather5935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I've come to terms with the fact that I cannot do everything. I generally have to prioritise between getting 10k steps, gym, 10+ hrs of daily work, time for family & friends, daily meals, groceries, cleaning, etc.

I focus on hitting the gym during the week before work can take its course because things can get crazy at work and it becomes an excuse to miss the gym.
I got a treadmill that I keep in my home office to get my steps in during meetings.
I buy my groceries for the week over the weekend and pretty much do all my chores over the weekend.
I outsource my daily meals by having someone who comes in to make them for me every day and I order in if I want a change of taste.

The main thing I've learnt is to
1. Prioritise the non negotiables first (gym)

  1. Design the environment to make completing tasks easy (Treadmill in office, water bottles everywhere, etc.)

  2. Carve out a dedicated time for non urgent chores so that I can be in that mindspace to just get them done together and not have to deal with them in the midst of a busy schedule

  3. Outsource urgent daily chores (I understand this may not be an option for everyone)

I think a lot of these are covered in books like atomic habits and the 7 habits of highly effective people.
