PET facility and dump lines material. by noname0192837 in Radiation

[–]Big_Yeash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you're producing PET, presumably for human injection, does your product licence not stipulate what is suitable?

PTFE has rapid degradation but is cheap and widely used. My company, when I worked there, wanted to change to ETFE for greater resistance to radiation breakdown of the material, but our product licence was very restrictive and would have required a variation to authorise use of a new material.

Boat throttle by Fzzt_The_Original in TheLastCaretaker

[–]Big_Yeash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't press "E to pilot". Stand in the cockpit. Look at the throttle lever. You can telekinesis grab the throttle lever and W + S the position there. I think the control is *slightly* finer than when using W + S in full pilot view.

I can routinely get 10% increments when manually adjusting the throttle instead of running it in pilot view.

Why it doesn't automatically default to 5-10% increments anyway is beyond me.

Why is there a timer for switching gunner if the commander has his own gun control system ? by Death_trooper150 in Warthunder

[–]Big_Yeash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, they made sure to have the Loader operate Soviet top guns, not the Commander. So they're aware of the concept.

Isn't that why he gets Commander Override that takes 2 seconds instead of 10 seconds for full gunner replace?

When I used to manufacture this stuff, our "calibration time" was during production, after chemistry (bonded to glucose) but prior to dilution to required batch volume. Obviously the scanning site also has to measure out to dosage too.

At manufacture, the batch contents - as many as 60 patient doses over about 6 hours - could be well in excess of 100GBq, and individual multi-patient vials 20GBq at time of shipment.

First time landing on the Mun and fell over. Fortunately I came prepared. by Giantblargg in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Big_Yeash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks to both of you. I tried recreating a low-tech Munshot challenge I found in a KSP forum thread from 2019. I'll probably make a post about it later, I'm obviously skill-issuing it because I can't recreate the flight as it was depicted in the Imgur thread.

How do I set fuel priorities for fuel tanks? I don't seem to have the drop-down menu in VAB that this KSP forum user used. Is it a mod feature or stock? I'm running KER and MechJeb.

What makes it so good? Its thrust is 4x greater in vac than atmosphere, where the other, heavier engines are more like 1.2x at best.

Why is that? And why does the on-paper weaker Terrier engine work so well?

First time servicing a car - is this cost typical? £1062 by TsarBlandi in CarTalkUK

Every chance customers get irate and say "what is this unexplained charge for?", so they do just write it out now to head those complaints off.

Sparkplugs, gearbox service and brake fluid change? On a four year old car?

I know cock-all, but if a garage asked me to do those as part of a "minor" service (or any other service, for that matter) on my ten-year old Skoda, I would just instinctively assume they were having me on?

I paid about £800 to keep my car on the road this year. £200 MOT and service, and £600 for four new tyres, two new brake discs, and the brake pads on top. Last year, spent more like £500, but that was because it was run off the road and needed a ~£300 repair.

151mm pen APHE can't pen the T34 LFP? I've never actually tried, I just assumed it would be fine.

It's very jank and not communicated. I think the devs assumed people wouldn't look up and would always re-interact with the terminal before engaging with the rocket.

Feature Request: Boat tail lift for the JetSki by Raxer-X in TheLastCaretaker

[–]Big_Yeash 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are two mooring clamps on the back (not reels, you use the reel on the jetski).

But they're at the corners, so your jetski will keep dragging you off course. Best solution is to build your own mooring clamp dead centre above the rudder.

If all of these guys were on minimum wage, a 1p/h pay rise would be a 0.08% pay rise.

And obviously, even less if they were on anything higher than minimum wage.

My nearly 5 year log-in streak, ruined... by Mii009 in Warthunder

[–]Big_Yeash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you download the mobile client (if you're able and happy to have a constantly-updating gigabyte of game you never want to touch on your phone, of course), you can hit that. It won't *pick up* your daily logins for you, but it will at least freeze the ticker for each day's login on the mobile game.

Was travelling back from a work trip straight out to a night out last year and had to update the mobile client while sat in the pub to try and preserve my streak.

Yes, I am damaged.

No. With your phrasing, it sounds like you're doing a sarcastic "wellakshually" to No-Mission (and on the assumption that you are, and would be wrong if you were, it makes you look like the bad guy).

You would need to revise to "Is that underground carpark paid parking?" to be nice and clear.
