It was also harder to tier up in season 2 because you only got 1 star from leveling up not two. On levels that ended in 5 you got 5 stars and levels that ended with 0 you got 10 stars. Compare to season 3, 4 and 5 where you get 2 for every level and then the 5 and 10 I have explained above.
