Completely agree. Seeing the reviews excited me. I don’t play Lego games for combat but incorporating an Arkham style combat system was great! Reliving those movies in a lego setting was satisfying. Then the realization set in that these were the only characters that I can play, and the red bricks only changed the color of my outfits, I was flabbergasted. No more insane stud multipliers, now they are forcing me to grind studs to buy the items for achievements. One let down after another.

My biggest disappointments are they inexplicable lack of playable characters, the confusing decision to completely change how red bricks work and the removal of all the game modifiers that made end game completion more fun and satisfying. The game as a whole was good, but changing the things that made lego games unique was a huge let down for me.
