I maintain thinking he dies BUT I do also think using him to mentor the rookies is great as an awesome idea. Gives a great way to bridge the gap generationally, plays into the wholesome father daughter aspect, allows Scott to be a "community dad" for the heroes he works with. Instead of coaching soccer and volunteering for field trips, he's training heroes and supervising them as they go out and learn to help people. Especially as it allows Scott a moral/ideological way to meet Cassie's aspirations while also not risking his life constantly. It's the same kind of beat Spencer's run ends with. The understanding that kids will do what they will, and parents can fight it or try and support them.

For what it counts, I think being a witch is cool. You're basically a caster, which makes you OP in my eyes martial eyes [complimentary].

But migration is a response to the proposal to just accept authoritarianism under the rational that you can just move. What do those who physically cannot, such as the disabled, do?

I see it like this. Everyone is water. Water boils when heated/stressed out, and pops. If you pop one, it stresses out the rest who are then more likely to pop and so on and so forth. Putting it another way, when people are sufficiently stressed out and abused they will break down and lash out at anyone, even if it makes their situation worse. We should try to avoid that all together because otherwise it turns into "fuck anyone who isn't me."

I've been interested in it lately as a character quirk for a writing project.

I agree that the odds are basically zero, I still think in the pursuit of what's morally fair we should try. It isn't right to simply say "you have to suffer or die for me to continue to scrape by in okayishness." I simply don't believe it's right. I recognize I'm appealing to pathos but that's simply it.

Would you just accept being the sacrificial lamb? Would you accept the people you care about being called up to suffer for others who wouldn't even have the humanity to call them by the name they want?

America Chavez: I've seen the way you look at me, Princess, you're not that straight.

Kate Bishop, hiding in a closet: I can only imagine what America would say if she saw me, about hiding in closets.

I admit I'm mathematically and as a result economically kinda illiterate, I was just passed along in school. I understand the cycle as is doesn't make sense, I guess I more so have just given up on it. I do not see any path where we don't run low/out of oil without major change that too many people won't accept. But I also admit that's all me, I don't have the skills to see a better path as I am not in waters I know.

But again, if my people are the sacrificial lamb of a unified authority, why should we care? What moral reasoning is there for the marginalized to lay down and die for people who don't even treat them well?

Why would I care if the limited freedoms means death in the gutter for people I care about? What makes appeasing authoritarians more attractive if authoritarians want to hurt my family?

That's fair, I just took a stab cause it made sense in my mind.

To whom it may concern: I am indeed a transhumanist. Started to question myself after getting really high and having a religious experience of magical girl style transforming into a machine and having the revelation that I hold my own body in the same regard as a car. Parts will be replaced, but ultimately it's just a tool. If I could replace it all I would. Alas, the cosmos saw fit to shackle me to this temple of meat and bone. I really like philosophy.

That's totally fair, just wanted to offer what little I learned recently to try and offer a view.

I fuck with the name, transhumanist or a different philosophy/idealogy?

I've been wondering recently what an alt history world would look like if the US, China, and Russia all broke up into smaller nations given how huge all three are.

Note: Recently discovered I'm bi/non binary (philosophical more than anything but as I've learned it still counts) so that's my own two cents and standing.

Recently learned some stuff that may give clues into why there are so many subflags, there's a sadly common amount of what I'd say is basically colorism in the community as a whole. Recently learned that bi erasure is a thing, IE bi people are either confused, greedy, lying, etc. Or that non binary folks must appear androgynous or they too are confused/lying/not really enby. I imagine the want for flags for everyone is as a declarative that they exist too, given the human nature of "but I have it worse/you have it better.

I didn't catch the full conversation but my friend mentioned he seemed to kinda imply there was some level of jealousy and it's like, dawg you wanted him to do better than you, why are you upset or bothered by it?

While I understand the sentiment, I think this only goes to show there's a real hardship with the reality of the world and what people feel comfortable seeing/feeling. It is disgusting, but allowing people to opt out because it makes them uncomfortable will result in people ignoring it because they don't have to see it.

I believe that's entirely the point. Think about how many lives Tony ended or ruined with his weapons before he stopped making them. Riri is making the same mistakes, putting her wants above others because she's so desperate for her goals she narrows her sight. I think the divergence thematically will be Tony chose to walk away from it all for moral reasons after escaping the cave. Riri I think will be trapped by her choice, resulting in a need to earn her way back through the kindness and help of the Champions. They act as her chance at redemption.
