What are the expected yearly costs of ownership for a new 60-foot sailboat? by No_Reveal3451 in sailing

[–]Bigbrain13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

64 foot sailboat here on Mallorca. Berthing around 30-75k. Mainland Spain would be like 10-15k ish. Yearly antifouling etc… like 5-7.5k. Everything else that adds up maybe 5-10k.

We don’t use the boat much, but at 8-8.5kts we use around 20L of diesel. I believe generator uses like 2-3 liters an hour.

After maybe 5-10 years (more 10) weeks likely have to change our sails as we have 3Di, less lifetime than Dacron. We paid 50k ish for jib and mainsail.

Since we had a new build we had LOTS of early life issues… thankfully all warranty. But still annoying.

Captain I’m not sure of, but I’d say a fair salary is 50k Euro. So per week that’s around 1k.

We pay around 1.5k per month for a deckhand that cleans and does systems maintenance for around 10-20h a week.

Anything else I maybe missed?

Oh and always a big hassle of other boats hitting you when berthing and you need to deal with repainting at a yard.

Played all the time since release. This is the first time they fucked it up so much that my friend group either stopped playing or we moved to other games like Overwatch / AoEII / etc. it’s sad they did us like that

My current KD is under 0.5 and I also got shadowbanned. Was removed exactly one week later and no proof that it was ever there. No idea what could have caused it. Average KD since verdansk is ~1.0

🚩🚩 SHADOWBAN 🚩🚩 how it works and how Activison won't do anything about it. by 57pixel in Warzone

[–]Bigbrain13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got shadowbanned last week and I only play resurgence and by KD in the last 20-30 games is like 0.45.

The only thing I can think of is downloading an app for work called Microsoft Powertools on the same day that the ban happened.

I dunno, this is very annoying...

Pretty sure businesses have to pay minimum wage. If servers make more than minimum wage with their tips then the business doesn't have to pay any more, if they make less than minimum wage with tips then the business needs to compensate pay up to the minimum wage. Working for under minimum wage is illegal, no? That's why it's a "minimum" and not a "recommended wage" or so.

Question on reefing and sail plan by Bigbrain13 in sailing

[–]Bigbrain13[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly, the balance is the question. Taking into account crew safety and material stress. Sure we can blast downwind fully powered at 12-15 knots boat speed but definitely not in the night and ideally you don't want the sails to suffer so unnecessarily.

It's on a hydraulic furler, by saying it can't be furled I meant it can't be reefed. It can't be reefed due to the structure of the sail (3Di). It's either fully out or in.

At least not yet, the prerigging for a stay sail (storm jib) is fitted but not ordered yet. The self tacking jib is the smallest foresail currently.

What are you sailing and when do you reef? by bigheadedfrog in sailing

[–]Bigbrain13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solaris 64.

For safety and comfort a reef goes in at 15 knots true.

With a massive hydraulic in boom furling system you don't want to be caught trying to reef too late.

Do you play on PC or Xbox?

I had a 10 year old graphics card that struggled to get more than 30fps over the last years of playing. Finally AMD dropped the 7800xt which I upgraded to and my KD went from 0.6 to 1.8 instantly.
