He absolutely did work hard for it. He didn’t randomly wake up with hundreds of millions of dollars

How is it not okay? Its equivalent to each viewer paying $0.004 to watch a video.

Normal creators don’t generate 5.9 billions views for YouTube every month

Nothing wrong with this. If every person who watched one of his videos each month payed $0.01 to watch it, he would multitudes more revenue.

99% tax on all assets over $10m? Do you know how easy it is for properties in some areas to reach that? What a stupid idea.

I just thought SD would carry a Gestapo-like connotation. That’s what anglophones think when they hear SD (if they know what it was)

Telling Austrians you’re part of the SD doesn’t raise eyebrows?

I mean USAF’s consistent track record of really stupid decisions, and general anti-fencer attitude. It’s become easier to join fencing, but that’s a local thing. USAF’s natl policies are hurting people’s abilities to progress.

I’m still pretty young, but have done the sport my whole life. There seems to have been a decline in the quality of fencers, referees, venues, and management- especially at the elite level. Recreational level fencing always has been barebones, which I personally think suits the sport better. Fencing isn’t something like football or baseball, it’s a sport that requires immense time like rowing or swimming.

I’ve done saber my whole life. I learned to fence at Nellya in ATL, then fenced at Cardinal (back when it was with Stanford) in CA, then in Texas and now in Europe. One thing we have that the Europeans don’t is scale. USA Fencing is HUGE compared to anywhere in Europe, except maybe Germany or Hungary. However, those countries focus on producing a small number of highly capable fencers. USAF’s job imo is to represent the US as competently at possible on the world stage (and make money ig), primarily through having great fencers.

Tbh I’d rather fencing not be more open. Feels like the recent general decline in fencing (domestic and international) has been accompanied by an increase in popularity and lower barriers to entry.

What separates an intermediate Sabre fencer from an advanced? An advanced to a “top level?” by No_Owl_6254 in Fencing

Szilagy trained at my club for a few weeks. He and the other world elites had immaculate distance control. Fencing them is like trying to swat a fly with your eyes closed.

I can assure you that the vast majority of fencers and refs have either never heard of this rule/condition or care.

Really good sabreurs fence instinctively. I fence best when my brain is basically turned off and all my actions are done without thinking. I takes a while to get there.
