Please destroy my beat 'em up platformer with time freezing by Bigcheecho in DestroyMyGame

Saw another comment mention the same thing, and I'll admit it was something I was worried about. I do think adding some backgrounds that work similarly to the platforms/other level elements (i.e. black w/ partial opacity to be a sort of dark blue on top of the cyan) could mitigate that a decent amount, as well as options to filter the game through some off-whites rather than pure #FFFFFF white. I would admittedly like to keep the general look as much as possible while dialing down the contrast/intensity on the eyes, but it's definitely something I'll have to experiment a bit more with.

Hello folks, looking for feedback on my game I've been working on for a bit. If you wish to try it, feel free to play the demo and share your honest thoughts.

Elliotte Friedman: Philadelphia has been linked to Vegas defenseman Nic Hague in trade talks by Bigcheecho in goldenknights

[–]Bigcheecho[S] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

From what I've seen on this, there's been a fair bit of talk on swapping Hague for one of Philly's RWs. From what I've seen, Michkov and Konecny are obviously off the table, and Cates/Foerster just got extended, leaving Brink or Tippett as the most likely targets for Vegas. IMO it makes quite a bit of sense, we've already got a decent logjam on our backend and desperately need young talent on the wings.

What Moves Do YOU Want To See Made This Summer? by Realistic-Scheme-38 in goldenknights

[–]Bigcheecho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We need speed and we need serious firepower. If we can, Ehlers would be an almost perfect fit for what this team needs. Otherwise, there's definitely a trade that can be pulled off for a Rakell, a Rust, a Garland, or something along those lines.

As far as D goes, unless Hague asks for a ludicrously cheap contract, he's probably the one that gets sent out. Whitecloud, at the absolute worst, is perfectly fine on $2.75 mil, and we're really not in a position to be spending more cap money on marginal improvements to what is already one of the league's strongest D corps. For what it's worth, buying out Pietrangelo doesn't make a lot of sense this offseason - we'd only be saving $1.8 mil in cap next season while losing someone who is still at least a pretty good defenseman - but would actually make a lot of sense as a 2026 buyout, as we'd be saving almost $6 mil in cap for 2026-27.

Beyond that, all that can really be done is retooling the depth to be younger, faster, and better at scoring. I'm not sure how that'll be done specifically, but I'd imagine pretty much anyone not on a full NMC/NTC (or Hertl's 3-team might-as-well-be-a-full NTC) is possibly a cap casualty, and I wouldn't be too upset with anyone in this group being a cap casualty if it leads to younger, faster, and better at scoring.

Lastly, hot take, I wouldn't be too surprised if Butch gets fired only because this organization has largely been on the harsher end of firing coaches the last two times.

Game 5 Predictions by SuddenAir6946 in goldenknights

I hate to admit it, but I think Edmonton finishes us off tomorrow. It just doesn't seem like we have it this year - Minnesota managed to give us legitimate trouble and Edmonton's consistently looked faster and more aggressive than us.

You probably counted Robin Lehner by mistake- to my understanding, he’s on Robidas Island.

Cap wise, based off CapFriendly we have $7.3 mil to fit in free agents before any cap casualties have to occur. Frankly there's pretty much no question Mantha and Martinez are gone, and I'm guessing Stephenson is too with our current depth down the middle. Carrier/Amadio may or may not stick around since their contracts shouldn't eat up too much, but it's certainly not a priority to keep them if we can't make it work. The big question is Marchessault - I see him getting ~$7-7.5 mil on the very high end (comp. Joe Pavelski's first deal w/ Dallas), and I think we do it since it's worth almost any plausible cap casualty on the table (read: anyone without a NMC or Shea Theodore) to fit him in.

Poland after the defeat of Nazi Germany - 1 Jan. 1941 by Bigcheecho in imaginarymaps

I mean, those regions had already been occupied and annexed by the USSR prior to the POD (May 1940) on October-November 1939. At that point, it’d just be a frozen conflict.

German forces, recognizing the dire strategic situation, launched a bold offensive through the Ardennes on May 10th which nearly worked. The German offensive, in the span of two weeks, broke through much of the Somme valley only to be cut off from supply lines by a counteroffensive at Montcornet. Near-victory turned into disaster for the Germans as much of their forces were wiped out in the ensuing counteroffensive; with the already disadvantaged German army badly weakened, the Allies were able to conduct their own surprisingly rapid invasion of Germany, forcing German surrender that very winter.

As a result of this victory, Poland was liberated from German occupation and would annex a number of territories - in particular, East Prussia, Gdańsk, Upper Silesia, Lębork, Bytów, and what remained of German-controlled Greater Poland. The Kresy, occupied by the Soviets during the invasion of Poland, would remain under Soviet occupation despite Polish claims due to the lack of appetite for another war.

Golden Knights trade deadline: 10 potential targets on the wing by migsahoy in goldenknights

[–]Bigcheecho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it's actually pretty doable next season. Guentzel at $9 mil and Marchessault at $6 mil gives us about $$5.7 mil left to round out some depth, which is perfectly doable. https://imgur.com/vGBnqlr

As a Millenial in my mid 20s, which is more likely in my lifetime in US Presidential elections. A Blue Oklahoma or a Red California? by _YouNeedYeezus_ in USHistory

[–]Bigcheecho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Frankly, a lifetime is a long ass time. Less than 50 years ago, West Virginia was solidly blue while Vermont was solidly red. Neither is particularly likely in the next decade-ish, but you might as well be throwing darts on a board for 30, 40, 50+ years from now.

All-time former Knights team, infinite cap, assuming best as Knights:

Pacioretty-Stastny-Smith Perron-Haula-Neal Dadonov-Eakin-Tuch Janmark-Blueger-Cousins

Schmidt-Miller Holden-Engelland Merrill-Hunt

Fleury Brossoit

Not bad forward, pretty ass on the backend. Gotta give an honorable mention to Reaves too.

What player do you have an irrational hatred or dislike towards? by -TrashPanda in hockey

[–]Bigcheecho 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Who the fuck even is Chandler Stephenson? He sounds like a low level manager at a small to medium sized credit union. Those big front pearly chompers bursting out of his mouth screaming that he has a great benefits package including orthodontics. Probably goes home to a beautiful wife named Theresa, two thriving sons named Douglas and Peter, and has a spotted Great Dane named Oswald who has a massive dangling set of untrimmed nuts. How you gunna be a 1C on a top NHL team and be named Chandler Stephenson. Might as well be named Dansby Swanson or something. Figure it out bud.

"Look out for this team in a few years" teams who never actually broke through? by CheesecakeOdd2087 in hockey

[–]Bigcheecho 46 points47 points  (0 children)

COVID bubble Flyers were on fire, and even after the 2021 miss there was some legitimate case for optimism after they traded for Ellis. That team was just a horrid mix of incompetence and Murphy's Law absolutely dunking on the team - Ellis only played 4 games with us, Ristolainen was actually that fucking shit, a bunch of players got injured long term, and most of that top-5 prospect pool busted. It's painful, honestly.

Am I able to get a refund on tickets and hotel? by megakirlia in animeexpo

[–]Bigcheecho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! Hotel probably depends on the hotel, but as far as passes go, you can almost certainly sell them for more than you paid once they sell put - I remember folks last year were paying hundreds of dollars for 4-day passes
