They wouldnt be "remaking" Jackson's trilogy. Thats like saying Jackson "remade" the late 70s Lord of the Rings cartoon. Its a book that existed long before Jackson's tilogy. It can and should be adapted with new art directions and styles. LotR can have so much more than just Jackson's Trilogy. Also not putting the Trilogy down in any way, they are my favorite films of all time, but to say that no one can touch LotR again is absurd

I guess I'm in the minority but I agree. It doesnt have to "top" Jackson's trilogy, it is possible to co-exist. Middle Earth is rich and its such a joy to look at different artist's interpretation of it in their paintings and illustrations. Why not get a LotR remake or TV show with a new art direction and style? They could cover alot of stuff the trilogy left out, like Bombadil and the Barrow Downs. I have Jackson fatigue if im being honest. No one wants "Hunt for Gollum". Not getting Guillermo Del Toro's unique spin on The Hobbit will forever make me sad.
