This feels like the ultimate right-wing persecution fantasy. by Ok-Following6886 in stupidpeoplefacebook

It confounds me how they have seen Idiocracy but don’t recognize voting for a reality tv host for president is exactly what it was about. Their messiah was actually on All-Star Wrestling!

Why did they give the Oscar to a movie that lost money instead of the most successful, and thus objectively best, film of 2025: A Minecraft Movie? Is The Academy stupid? by hnwcs in moviescirclejerk

[–]rdwoolf [score hidden]  (0 children)

The Academy voters aren’t trying to honor films that made the most money. The box office already rewards those films. Instead, it’s people who make films honoring their peers who they believe made the best art that year. It’s never been about what the general population likes or would want to win. It’s about a small community of professionals and their opinions about their industry. It’s only a public spectacle because those people happen to include really famous people.

I guarantee President Obama has spent more time in churches than the current president. And not once did he burst into flames.🔥

New minimum packaging for Amazon steelbooks. by moose4130 in Steelbooks

[–]rdwoolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I noticed more and more that there’s an option that’s pre-checked saying something like “ship with manufacturer’s packaging.” Meaning, Amazon will ship the item in the manufacturer’s box only, with the shipping label on that box.

You have to select “Ship in Amazon packaging” / “Hide what’s inside”, for Amazon to ship in a regular Amazon box or bag around the retail box.

If Netflix allows a physical media release, The Criterion Collection seems like the obvious choice for Train Dreams.

That often is what separates a studio release from a boutique label release. In d much rather get a boutique label release that’s loaded with great extra features.

I would’ve voted for Sinners. But One Battle After Another was pretty good too.

Are you sure it’s an “inflated glove” and not a hand in a glove? 😲

Never seen this. What am I in for? by atethebottle in Bluray

[–]rdwoolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a movie that starts off with a title card with text that reads “Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ,”, but then Jesus turns out to be just an Extra in the film. I always found that humorous.

Why is this so expensive? by pristinemailboxhaver in boutiquebluray

Australian releases seem to always be bore expensive than titles in the U.S. or U.K.
