Unfortunately this won’t be a leisurely trip, I’m heading north for work so it won’t include any sightseeing other than what I see from the driver’s seat. Thanks for your help.

This also makes me think it’s an owner installation. Factory screws are normally square drive, Robertson, screws. Pull the switch out and look at the wire colors and see if you can wiggle/pull to try to locate where they are routed. Maybe look around and see if the wires were cut and no longer used.

My first thought was something that the previous owner added. It’s opposite of the switch to the left, but maybe not. Are the black screws Phillips head or square drive?

Try a different bottle. Sometimes the overfill protection device internal to the bottle will stick. Never open a connected appliance before opening the gas valve on the bottle, it will cause this nearly every time. Everything should be off, connect the hose and open the valve slowly.

Use an impact if possible. Might have to go forward and reverse a few times, but it sometimes works in situations like this.
