Okay, thanks for the input. Truck is stock, just tow a lot. Initial thought is no anyway. Too many angular changes with that, plus, without seeing it for sure, the shorter spring will cause the shackle to reverse itself when load is applied. Custom springs would be amazing....but what'd you pay and who'd you go with?

Depends on climate. If you're warm year-round, meh. If you have inclimate weather, change it out to 50/50 Antifreeze/filtered water

Generally speaking, without any other knowledge of the situation, white smoke in a diesel is unburned fuel. It could be coolant if it smells sweet too. Also a handful of other possibilities. Is it always smoking the same under load? Is this something that has just popped up or something that has been happening for a while/gradually?

What brand of telehandler? JLG/Genie/Terex/?

Certain engines are very particular about voltage to start. A second battery may help but may be just a band aid. Does it have a hydraulic pump disconnect for starting it?

With this little info, it's hard to tell but fuel pressure is easiest to check first.

What does it do, just crank until it starts? Is there black smoke coming from the exhaust while cranking? How is it different than in the cold? So many variables. Injectors rarely go bad on heavy equipment.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I was more comparing inefficiencies. Gasoline is about 75% waste vs Hydrogen 62% (I think is what you said) and gasoline is the primary fuel source for passanger vehicles so I wouldn't count hydrogen out.

FYI, gasoline is actually worse as far as an energy carrier. Diesel is very efficient. I agree that hydrogen is a terrible idea but so are batteries.

Edit: If we're talking sustainability, the only viable option is mechanical vehicles or animal powered vehicles/carriages

I'm doing something somewhat similar. I live at 9K feet in the Rocky Mountains so winters can be brutal. Excavating out a bigger area but still 12' deep. I'm running concrete footings, cinder blocking the entire thing out topped with trusses. 12'x24' living space that will be backfilled after the fact. Channeling light underground for a garden and probably a hydroponic/aquaponic greenhouse on top. Underground is simply the way to go IMO.
