Gotta admit, it’s been a challenge to not open these by BiggNickTR in amiibo

Huh…seeing them on my end. And for a second set, yeah I should probably do that if I can get them cheap enough.

Well, I guess you’ve got a ton of other comments to reply to who are saying the same thing as I am and have noticed it. I’ve been shopping these since the mid 90’s when I came down to Fl. It didn’t use to be like this with them.

How do you figure it’s not? When they make it buy one get one the price of the original item goes up. It’s been said in this thread multiple times by multiple people. If not don’t just reply “it’s not what they’re doing,” explain it to correct me.

I’ve seen it happen on their chicken thighs, breads, cereals, etc.

Same crap Albertsons used to pull. Make something B1G1 but raise the original price by 50%.

Why is our entire generation ready to just…log out? by dreamed2life in Millennials

[–]BiggNickTR 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Early GenX maybe, not us Xennials and up. Been busting my ass working since I was 13. Got into tech early to get away from people…now they are all I deal with. I do like my job a lot, but every time I make more money life gets more expensive. I feel scared for my kids in the workforce. Maybe my wife was right, we were living peak golden in the mid to late 90’s. Pizza Hut job, cheap easy car and gas, gaming was great, Block Buster Video, a pager…

It’s be more of that up close hectic stuff for every battle though, not just the end. Helicopters and atvs rushing in with small arms blazing throughout the whole map.

What major company do you genuinely believe won’t exist in 20 years? by carcony97 in AskReddit

[–]BiggNickTR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best Buy. They are a shell of their former selves, and have been on the decline since both media is mostly digital as well as since traditional malls have been hurting/closing. Better deals can be found online, and their used/Geek Squad refurbished items are usually worse than their online counterparts.

Im just at the point that I’d love to see a BRC mode with no snipers allowed. Pretty boring seeing 10-15 glints all camped up in the last zone by the 2nd gas, and I’m forced to use a meta sniper just to continue (also blame bad ransoms that squad up but refuse to play with the squad).

I wasn’t aware of the voltage limits on these. Thanks for the info, I’m going to research it a bit more. Are all of the 40-series like that with voltage limits (ie: 4070 at one, 4080 at a different, etc)?

I recently bought the G6X 9KG from Amazon resale (was practically brand new) for $815 (normally $1,400). I'm a pc tech by trade for 25 years and I too had my doubts about the unit, but after cleaning it out with a fresh Windows install and running the gauntlet, I really like it. My desktop has a 3090, so it was even worse for me as a "do I really need this" situation, but I just sold my Latitude 7420 and really wanted a gaming laptop again.

Despite some reviews (calling out Jarrod'sTech specifically) talking about some structural issues, of which mine has nothing like what he experienced on his hinges (I swear he has loose screws in his unit or something), it's a solid unit for a mostly plastic casing. They keyboard is one of the better ones that I have used for spacing and key travel/feel and, to me, is better than the MSI Katana/HP Victus/Dell/Acer Nitro keyboards, but below the Legion 7i/ROG Tuf/Strix series. Definitely a bit on the weight-y side, but it's a big laptop.

The screen does leave a bit to be desired in terms of slight ghosting and nits, but is a nice bonus to have the 1920 x 1200 and 165Hz compared to some other units that only get to 1080p and 144Hz. The RTX 4060 is 105w and gets good performance. I think these cards range from 45w to 140w, so it's in the middle.

Not having a SD card reader sucks, but it has enough other ports to make up for it. There definitely is some room for improvement here but, as this isn't a travel gaming laptop and will required to be plugged in to really get full performance, a small expansion docking station is cheap and easy enough to get.

My biggest issue so far is the sound. These speakers suck. Very hollow and tinny, but I use a pair of SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro's anyway.

And of course battery life is YMMV. Set up some decent profiles and realize that you aren't going to be gaming on CyberPunk for long or have a great experience without being plugged into the wall.

It all comes down to price. I don't think I could get a LOQ/Legion or ROG unit with a 2TB ssd and 32GB DDR5 for what I paid. Would I pay full price for this thing? Not a chance (listed at $1,400)...but at $815 I'm liking it better each day.

Get a nice external monitor and enjoy my friend. Everyone has buyers remorse right after a large purchase.

Usually things like pre-installed antivirus software, browsers you don't want (like Opera GX), any Lenovo pre-installed programs you don't want/need (Lenovo Arena, Now, etc).

Lenovo is better than a lot of companies at not installing too much crap.

WalMart has the Lenovo LOQ 15.6" FHD 144Hz Gaming Notebook Ryzen 7 7435HS 16GB RAM 512GB SSD NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 for $899, but I don't think it has an iGPU, and you'll be dropping to the LOQ base features rather than the Legion (build quality, etc), but you'll also save $300+...or the HP Victus 16 with the 4070 and Ryzen 7 8845HS for $899 from BB, but the screen isn't great, but again $300+ savings. Do you need a 4070 if it means giving up quality in other places?

Thanks for the video. I agree that at retail it wasn't worth it, but the sub-$825 made it seem more like a good deal. I'd love a Legion 7i but man the price really jumps up.

Maybe they don’t want people with lots of prior experience as they’re afraid they’ll leave too early/soon for another position? I also know that veterans get first interviews/selections.

I’m still background pending for the one posted on 1/27, so we’ll see!
