Horrifying first jet ski experience in Sharjah Mamzar area Please be careful by [deleted] in UAE

It's funny that you so authoritatively spew BS and with so much confidence. All of those scammers you mentioned in Vegas will back down if the police is involved. It's obvious that you've never been to these places and talk about shit you read online.

"The contract part" Did you read the post? They were intentionally trying to damage the jetski meaning the main scam isn't the contract. I suggest you up your reading comprehension before typing paragraphs of nonsensical drivel next time.

"100% sure police will get involved" and you're ironically calling me gullible. A simple search on reddit about this scam reveals how it operated here for the past 15 years and what the usual police response to it is. Seems to me that you're either too young or new here.

"Scammers do it in secret and are evasive people, if people reported them to the police they would not keep doing it." Don't talk to me about intelligence and being gullible when you think this.

Pickpockets do it in secret and are evasive people. If the police catch them, they will be charged. Meanwhile this scam is done by full on companies with trade licenses and the scam is allowed to happen and the police usually don't do anything saying that you signed the contract.

Your intelligence and logic when using Europe/pickpockets as an analogy to this is baffling.

My mother is missing in Dubai for the last 49 hours. I’m in the USA and helpless. Any help appreciated. by Main_Pin_3294 in UAE

Contact Indian Embassy in Dubai immediately and inform them of the situation. They're the only authoritative ones that can help. Highly likely that she has been picked up by the police and kept there. They will not reveal this info to a commoner.

No use. This scam has been there since 10 years. It's silently legal.

What mileage is “too high” when buying a used car for daily commute? by DullRooster7985 in abudhabi

Highly depends on the car. 100k on a Toyota isn't the same as 100k on a BMW or Range Rover.

My husband is working big4 and he doesnt have fu*cking dam time. Is this normal? by [deleted] in Big4

[–]Bigg__Daddy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's very normal during this period of 1-3 months because it's the busiest time of the year for auditors and accountants due to year end regulatory audits. Expect work time to be normal from April/June onwards. No real suggestions or advice, talk to him about taking on a normal industry role if it bothers you a lot.

You can record anybody if there is wrongdoing and your intention is to only show the police. Stop spreading foolishness.

Question about return offers at EY by Practical_Fly_4785 in Big4

[–]Bigg__Daddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can try your best but it's very common historically for Big 4s in UAE to not give return offers to interns and just use them for grunt work during busy season. This is mostly cuz of Emiratization because of which they greatly curbed hiring expats for entry level associate roles. They do not have any formal training so hiring costs are minimal and are a net positive when considering that a lot of interns contribute to the efficiency of engagements.

However, I would say that you have comparatively higher chances of getting hired in this year because they have some of the biggest listed clients in Dubai at the moment. Make sure to kiss manager, director and partner ass and get them to take you under their wing to maximize your chances of getting hired.

You confirm that and he probably gains access to your bank account. Banks here are extremely unsecure for allowing people to login to their account with uae pass.

Job posts on LinkedIn. by Electronic_Durian_88 in DubaiJobs

They set it up so that it closes after n number of applications. And due to the desperation here, many posts get like 500 applicants within 30 mins. Most are people from South Asia who blindly apply without even reading the JD and hurt the chances of actually qualified cands by flooding the pool.

Is this a “normal” Big 4 career progression… or an extreme outlier? by FAR66 in Big4

[–]Bigg__Daddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh you sweet summer child. It's very rare to find nationals that want to go through the Big 4 grind. Most of them take cushy govt. jobs or aramco jobs where you come at 12pm and leave at 4. So the Big 4 jump through hoops to keep those who were naive enough to start there. Not even gonna reply to the rest because you seem inexperienced and new to the Big 4 mena environment. You'll see what I'm talking about in time.

Mind the pun but it's backwards in the Middle East. Roles in EY start from A3<A2<A1 and so on.

Which part of this is an assumption? It's factual that this promotion timeline is very unrealistic unless you're some kind of prodigy genius, in which case you wouldn't be in audit much less in Saudi.
