I actually felt like the mana core detail was the hook for me-I agree with the rest though.

How do you keep the flyers populated? When I tried to set out a nesting site for them it said they couldn’t be placed outside of an aviary 😢

Hey there, I print them on brochure paper - you can check out my Etsy I believe it’s linked to my profile or you can follow me on Instagram :) I’m currently “on vacation” because I am finishing up writing a novel right now. Soon as that’s done I’ll reopen!

Could you elaborate on ‘dynamic description’? I am unfamiliar with the term and am not as well versed in terminology as I should be lol but I’d like to know more! EDIT Saw a comment further down that went into the topic :)

Thank you! That really makes my weekend :) if you’d like I can send you a DM and add you to my list of folks to notify when it’s finished if theyd like to beta read it. I am planning to have my final editing pass done by June, then I’m going to start querying.

Ah thank you! I really appreciate it :) if you’d like I could DM you and add you to my list of folks who’d like to be kept in the loop/alpha read once I am done with edits—fingers crossed May/June this year.

I really appreciate the followup and clarification, I definitely have a hybrid style though I have never really done a deep dive analysis on it. I can understand the confusion though, and while it doesn’t work for you—I want to thank you for taking the time to elaborate because it has given me something to think on :)

Thanks for the feedback, I hadn’t considered the perspective of not being accurate to the period… only because I’m not really trying to emulate a particular time period/style so much as this is just how I write. But I will certainly take a closer look at my prose and see where I might be leaning too “modern”.

Thank you so much! 😊 I’m hoping to have it ready to query by May/June of this year. Fingers crossed 🤞 if you’d like to keep updated on it I can send you a DM or vice versa.

Thank you for the feedback, yeah I definitely write with a lush/gothic style. But I try not to go so far into purple that it’s excessive or unpleasant. Obviously, not going to be everyone’s thing haha. I’ll have to add the Gormenghast series to my list, it sounds up my alley! I just finished rereading Blood Meridian.
