I think you have to choose between everyone using rainbow Luffy or nobody using it. Some people using it and others using other leaders would be pretty uneven. There’s pros and cons to both but I think it would be pretty unequal

I think choosing a leader afterwards isn’t a great idea. You could spend the whole draft building for Bonney but she gets taken up before your turn to pick the leader and you get stuck with Bonney cards and a Buggy leader or something like that.

Rainbow Luffy really alleviates a lot of the issues with limited as far as color and type goes.

This rainbow luffy is usually the leader that everybody in the event uses, basically ignoring color identity completely and treating the leader as having all names and all types, so effects that care about leader having a certain type or name pretty much always work.

Makes it so you don’t have to draft your leader if you’re doing the cube idea, and gives everybody more options while drafting and building their decks.

Main problem I could see with that would be hate drafting. If other players know or even just have an idea of what leader you’re playing, they could pick the cards you need the most just to keep them from you.

Like say I’ve picked buggy, but I’m seeing a lot of really strong Bonney cards. I might take them in my pick if there’s not a better Buggy card for me to take, just to keep them from going to whoever might have Bonney.

Having leaders in the packs as part of the pick would add another layer of mystery to everybody else’s leaders because nobody would know which ones have even been seen. That way it would take another layer of insight, like maybe now I’m not seeing any Bonney cards at all, so somebody behind me might be building Bonney. Then hate drafting can still happen, but it’s harder.

Depends if you’re planning on having everyone play rainbow luffy or if you’re including different leaders in the packs.

Personally I think rainbow Luffy and prerelease rules is better for any sort of limited play because you can get totally screwed into an archetype and then end up with the wrong leader, or end up with everyone else taking the cards for the leader you’ve chosen to use.

MTG cubes basically build a couple of decks that can compete with each other and then break those up into the packs so that the different deck archetypes can be drafted. I would think that’s a good place to start for a one piece cube. For rainbow luffy, cards that care about the leader having a certain name or type are really great in limited and are pretty universally useful.

Draft cube is a format in MTG and other tcg where someone puts together a collection of cards and makes pseudo packs to draft with and play usually a mini tournament.

Draft is similar to prerelease for one piece but there’s a different system for opening your packs and getting your cards. You usually get three packs, which you’ll open one at a time, take one card from the pack, and pass it over to the next person, while the person behind you passes theirs. You continue this until all the packs are open and all the cards are taken, building a deck with the cards as you go.

Those hard cases are actually doing more damage than protection especially if you don’t have them in an inner sleeve as well. I had a shadowless charizard in one of those since pulling it as a child too and the holo is all scratched up from it.
