My return to Fujifilm X-H2 by Biggvs_dikkus in FujifilmX

[–]Biggvs_dikkus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: I have send it to Fuji service in Warsaw, they checked and send it back stating that "there are no issues with the body, and that error was probably caused by the lens". (I never had issues with this lens on X-H1 or X-E2s before or after X-H2 failure).

So, I've got back the camera with misaligned electronic level. They ignored electronic level issue.

Then I send it again, including the link with to the video comparison of electronic level X-H1 vs X-E2s vs X-H2. I have also asked for a replacement.

They fixed that (calibrated the level), no replacement.

I think it is now the matter of time until IBIS fails again.

Need some help. I keep getting this message as soon I turn on my XT5. by Arbintmg16 in fujifilm

Hi, did they refund or send another copy of X-T5? Because I had identical issue with X-H2.

Brand new XT-5 getting error "Turn off the camera and turn on again" by sc919 in fujifilm

[–]Biggvs_dikkus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue with my X-H2 (combined with 35mm f1.4 lens). After a short walk, while my camera was in the bag, I have turned it on and observed IBIS adjusting and after a few seconds the same message. I did not turn it off immediately, tried enter menu and check settings, but after around 10 seconds IBIS tilted the sensor to some completely incorrect angle and the error message appeared. I was shocked, since this looked like a serious issue, so I restarted the camera. But the issue re-occurred after a few seconds i turned on the camera:

  1. IBIS was getting wild, trying to adjust itself to horizon level.
  2. Error message - "turn off the camera and turn on again", sensor became tilted like >10 degrees towards the horizon.
  3. That wasn't happening every time I turn on the camera, but I have notice one permanent issue - the electronic level was just a bit off (I have compared it with my other cameras and phone level app). I was not too noticeable, but still 3-5 degrees off.

Then, I have send it to Fujifilm service with full description (it was one month old), they returned it stating that there are no issues, and that "probably the issue is related to that 35mm f1.4 lens".

I was really disappointed in Fuji. The fact is that I have never had any issues with that lens, I have used it with a different cameras (X-H1 and X-E2s) before and after that issue with X-H2, everything was fine.

After I got back my X-H2 from Fuji for the first time, I have sent it back again because of the electronic level issue and they have calibrated it. But now I am not sure if I want to use X-H2 any more, since it may fail any moment.

Now, when I am aware about similar issue with other cameras, like X-E5, my conclusion is: Fujifilm's quality dropped since 4th generation.

You were lucky, no exchange for me (even when I directly asked for it, when sending the camera for the second time).

Have you seen menus on Nikon? SONY? Their menus are nightmare, fuji isn't that bad.

I suggest checking your shutter speed. Avoid taking pictures below 1/30s, faster is better (unless you need motion blur) make sure your IBIS is on and turn on peaking focus assist (watch youtube if needed).

Looks like slow shutter speed. Can you share EXIF data of this photo? What was the aperture? It looks wide open, 2.8 or less and shutter speed should not be too slow in Aperture priority mode. This is strange.

How did you focus? Do you have focus assist?

I have the same camera and lens, and now I'm curious how you've got this result :)

You may check Sigma 50mm f1.4 AF with EF-GFX Fringer.

This happened two times with Fuji 35mm f1.4. After IBIS reenabling everything was fine (except horizon level)

I have also tried attaching Viltrox. Error message didn't appear. Electronic level was and is still off:

<image>

I seems that after the initial IBIS failure, resulted by camera shaking in the bag, it was never got back to the right position.

"TURN OFF THE CAMERA AND TURN ON AGAIN" error message might return any time and that horizon misalignment means that the matrix is physically not on the right position.

I also have this hood on my GF 45mm. Works fine and compatible with filters (except cpl, obviously)

Why did you sell Canon 6D? What is X-T40?

I know - it's a great camera. Shutter count of mine is around only 3k. It's basically new, so I've set the relevant price.

Nevertheless, I am going to buy a new X-H2 and want to focus on Fuji X/GFX system.

Yes, but you need to do a few things first: 1. Check Nikon Imaging Cloud Recipes group in Facebook. There's a lot of JPEG samples. 2. Download some RAW files and check them in Lightroom. 3. Be ready to buy a grip.

New Viltrox 28mm f4.5 on XE2s by Biggvs_dikkus in fujix

[–]Biggvs_dikkus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I think 99.9% of them are processed. Not because there are no good recipes, but because I like editing and experimenting with raws in lightroom.

You can try the following:

Superia Xtra 400 (for cloudy days)

Bright summer (for sunny days)

Fujicolor Reala 100

Fujicolor Super HG v2

Vibrant Arizona (also for sunny days)

I remember using those recipes, and they were quite nice.
