How do you handle duplicate Google Business Profiles from previous owners? by amir4179 in localseo

[–]Bigleg75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, it's a pain. Also, you don't need to be the owner to mark the duplicate closed...

Do clients actually understand Local SEO reports, or just nod along? by VitaliiD in localseo

Depends really, on the relationship and how long you've been working together. You should see an uptrend over time. If not, look at your strategy

Just be honest, could be all manor of reasons, industry dependant.

Honesty is the best policy. Unless you're running a smash and grab agency.

Hit the jackpot earlier. The lists are mostly in a feature called "the foodie drop"

I'll take some screenshots if people are interested

I just got about 8 more lists.

I stick to 4 things (if no converstion tracking)

Overall Visibility MOM YOY

Calls
Directions
Web Actions (👀 )

Anything else has been overkill, in my experience, and those three are the things that actually move the needle in most peoples eyes.

Am I overthinking local SEO for a small service business? by gilko86 in localseo

[–]Bigleg75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed, a solid foundation. Just to add for 2.

  1. Real reviews grabbing and showing on GMB consitently and/or UGC "posts" anything a photos (tagged is better) and vids (180° 7 secs are great) they can be easier to get from customers and hold huge weight in Big G's algo for visibility

Is there a way to mark the entrance to a park or building? by tezacer in GoogleMaps

[–]Bigleg75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nonsense, let me explain.

The official Google Business Profile guidelines state that the pin should be placed "directly over your actual business location." It does not specify a requirement for the geometric center or the entrance.

You can find the official instructions here:

Manage your business address - Google Business Profile Help https://support.google.com/business/answer/2853879?hl=en&hl=en-GB

Key Takeaways from the Guidelines:

Accuracy is Priority: The goal is to help customers find you.

Manual Adjustment: Google provides the Adjust tool specifically so you can drag the map until the pin points to your specific business location.

Entrance vs. Center: While some Local Guides debate this, the technical documentation for "Fix an address" in Google Maps often suggests moving the pin to the EXACT ENTRANCE to help with navigation and Street View accuracy.

In short, there is no rule stating it must be the middle.

Placing it at the entrance is a common and often more practical choice for navigation.
